I did a lot of research on kayaks I'm a bigger guy and wanted a higher weight capacity kayak and lots of storage and few other features it moves super smooth threw the water it's very comfortable to sit in for hours I have 2 bad hips and knees and no problem sitting in at all can't wait to fish again and Brooklyn kayak was great hard issues with the shipping company and they worked with them to get it to me because I work a ton of hours a week thanks to them super happy so far would recommend for sure ... show more

First off I love this thing, but I have a few gripes. Weight Capacity • It says it can handle up to 550lbs but you will have a wet butt. I am no skinny guy (310lbs.), I took 6 can's of beer and a Bluetooth speaker with me and I was sitting in water. It came up through the scupper holes which I didn't have plugged at the time. I stopped at a sand bar and put them in and it floated fine. But over the next couple of hours I had standing water again. Most likely due to splashing from my paddle. • The weight distribution seems off as well. When I sit in the kayak, it looks a little like I am a speed boat roaring through the water, with the front up in the air more than the rear. I am having to put gear that I want near me, all the way in the front of the boat to try to even it out. By gear I mean my beer. The Chair • The chair is nice, definitely better than a molded in style chair, but the back doesn't stay in position. It keeps sliding back. Had to tie the extra strap in a knot. • The butt part of the seat isn't very comfortable. I bought a seat pad to sit on top of it. Note: Again, I am a big guy so these two issues may just be my problem. The storage Compartments • The red nylon bag things that they put in the storage compartments go all the way to the bottom of the kayak. This shouldn't be an issue but water does get in there and it does soak every thing in there. It would be nice if they didn't go all the way down and just hung your stuff in a little hammock. • The other issue on these little red bag things is that the ring that slides into the lip right under the lid are very thin plastic and break WAY too easily. • They leak. Probably how all the water ends up inside the yak. I am looking into ways of making them more water tight. Things of note... • It is a slower kayak. So in groups, be ready to paddle from time to time to catch back up. I think it is slower partially due to my weight, but also its width. Not a big deal, just more exercise to lose some of the weight right? • I put a little notch in the bottom front of the ridder to allow it to hook under the bungie when transporting it. Works like a charm. I am surprised they didn't design it that way. ... show more

$1,097 spent. Wasn’t able to get to the water till 8-20-22. My buddy Noticed a 4 inch wide gash in the side hull while he was sitting beside it in my van. Looks like it was from a fork lift blade. Tried amazon customer service. They told me at time of complaint I was 8 days past returning the product. I’m hoping the manufacturer cares more about their reputation and makes it right with me. I paid for a new kayak. I deserve to receive a new kayak. My advice examine your orders thoroughly. This boat never saw the water obviously very disappointed. Jason ... show more

Within 5 minutes of my first test run the adjustable straps that hold the seat back up snapped and broke. I like the kayak but it has a few weak points. The rudder system isn't very durable. Mostly the kayak itself is as advertised and I like it but the seat, which is not made by Brooklyn Kayak Company but instead is made in China; is absolutely worthless. I would send it back and demand a replacement but I'm going on a 4-day trip and need a seat, so I'm going to repair it myself, it will no longer be adjustable but fixed in one position. I'm sure I'll void the warranty doing so. Expect to have problems with this crappy seat. Also, note that I ordered the Kayak on July 25th, was promised delivery on August 5-11 and didn't arrive until the 18th. I did contact the sell and they were responsive, they gave me the delivery company's information but the delivery company did not respond to me, despite multiple attempts. ... show more

Nice size, plenty of storage spots, handles well. Wish the seat could have a couple of raisers to raise the seat up while fishing. Great it came with a paddle. Definately get a better paddle, the one that came with it is good for a smaller person, but, not long enough for my height. 4 stars because shipping took a little longer than expected. ... show more

It’s a nice kayak, thoroughly enjoyed it but on my first outing I hit a rock with the paddle and it instantly snapped leaving me to paddle up river with pretty much one side. I would recommend the kayak but get a different paddle.

Haven't used it yet, I received it damaged. The scupper tube for the transducer was busted and cracked half way down. I have two one week trips planned. Thousands spent, reservations made, time off scheduled. And still waiting on an answer back. I love the kayak and have nothing bad to say stuff happens and I plan on repairing the broken one enough to use on my first trip because there is no way they can get me a replacement on time. ... show more
