    • A great value for the money! Hidden gem alert!
Was originally concerned about shipping time and arrival condition, but everything has come up millhouse so far. Shipping was around 2.5 weeks for me, which I thought was fine to the other side of the country. Kayak came scratch-free for me, so I was definitely happy about that. A few initial thoughts… - The aluminum seats are nice, but the video of setting them up was not the same as what I received in person. There were no tethers to attach them, only one strap with a plastic click buckle on one end. Also what is shown in the video for where they thread through wasn’t the same on this model, so be ready to improvise. I used a bit of line to just tie it down to the d-ring right below the frame and problem solved! I’m sure I’ll look at a better long-term solution, but it’s just fine for now. - Paddles are pretty decent for the money! Nothing super expensive or amazing, but totally functional and usable. Bravo! - Front waterproof hatch was a bit bent due to the seal being placed incorrectly in the groove. This has made the lid warp a bit to where even after the seal placement was fixed, the lid doesn’t fully seat. It’s winter here (think ice breaking type excursions) so when it gets warmer, I’ll probably fix that fitment a bit better with a heat gun or hair dryer. Personally think the QC could be a bit better on the hatch lids, but at this price point, I can live with it. - I haven’t tried the soft seats yet, but they look pretty good. I’ll have to update the review if and when I try them. I really like the aluminum seats, so I might not even get there. It would have been nice to just select a seat type so I don’t have to take up garage space for seats I’ll likely never use, but the fact that they’re there for choices ain’t a bad thing. - Hardware looks good (with the exception of the previously mentioned hatch lid issue). - Handles are fine. Nothing fancy, but they’re functional. - Of course it’s a bit on the heavy side. Moving it around with two adults is no problem though. Honestly with a larger tandem kayak, I probably wouldn’t enjoy lifting it onto a roof rack carrier, but for me right now, that’s not an issue. So in a nutshell, I think this is one of the better values out there for this type of kayak. I’m happy. I will update as time goes on if things go south. Thank you BKC! Edit: 1.5 years in, the only issue I’ve had is with one of the handles. One came off and I opted to just put an inexpensive flexible one on there as a replacement. I personally think the flexible one is much better than the rigid one it came with. Other than that, no issues so far. ... show more

Good solid canoe for the price. Our only complaint is the seats tend to slide forward as you paddle causing you to constantly be pushing back into place. We will be buying better seats! Other than that, it's a great tandem kayak that tracks well and is amazingly stable. We are happy happy happy!!

The kayak is high quality and well designed. The waterproof bins for cell phones are air tight and roomy. The bar to secure the oars is a great feature and swivels for ease of movement. The kayak is sturdy and we feel secure when motor boats pass us in the water. We love our kayak!

    • Great Kayak! Greater Service!!
The kayak arrived ahead of time. However, it had some scratches it acquired in transit. This is an acceptable risk with a bulky item. The integrity was compomised, however BKC was quick to respond and make sure that I felt satisfied with the money I had spent. They shipped over a few items, gratis, to make up for the scratches to the hull of the kayak. Anyway, the kayak looks beautiful...and I think I am going to go take it out, now. ... show more

My honest review after using it a few times. 1) Seat hook broke 10 minutes into first use. 2) The 2 "waterproof" hatch openings to store stuff. They leak water and are supposed to be "Waterproof". The locking mechanism is also really flimsy and easily turns to an open position. I would suggest you do NOT put important items in there (Phones etc...) Those items need better materials and contruction. ... show more

This is a very nice Kayak and well worth the $. It does take some effort to keep straightforward when paddling but for speed it’s nice and fishing pole holders with extra cargo space make it ideal. Also great to take grandkids out with ability to support 3 people
