Honestly incredibly impressed with how well this cleans and extracts. Prior to using this I had a rug doctor spot cleaner, which is a great unit but hard on the knees. In looking for an upright whole house unit I decided to give this Bissel a go, and I'm glad I did. We have three cats, and vacuuming is a fairly regular event in our house, at least one or twice a week in common areas. Prior to using this I ran my Dyson over my carpets and did what I thought was a thoroughly decent job at getting up the solids. I filled the tank with warm water, added the carpet solution and went to work. I was left incredibly impressed, and throughly disgusted at the same time by this unit. Seeing what my Dyson was leaving behind was eye opening. The dual brush on this Bissel was not only extracting dirt, but also cat hair that was deeply embedded in our carpet fibers. Every 4-5 feet it would kick out a wad of pet hair that my vaccum had managed to miss. I was even able to get up a spot of latex paint from when we painted our walls. I honestly couldn't be more impressed with this Bissel as an upright. The only drawback I've had with this unit is the hand attachments. When using it on my stairs, it leaked. I double checked the fittings, and made sure the tanks were properly connected, but I still ended up with a small puddle under the machine. I'm still choosing to rate this incredibly high for how it performs as an upright. ... show more

After getting a puppy, there has been many accidents on the carpet. I originally got a bissell pet stain eraser power brush which seemed to work great on rugs for very small spots, it just didn’t work as effectively on carpets, especially for more of a deep clean. Was also annoying when I needed to recharge it and constantly refill/empty out tank per my needs. After a while for the carpeted rooms, I’ve noticed that it wasn’t really deep cleaning per the smell I noticed along with the carpets didn’t feel right, almost sticky per the cleaning product residue… almost making it worse per the cleaning I was doing with the bissell eraser. Per the reviews, I decided to get the Bissell Pro and oh my goodness, what a GAME CHANGER after using this for a couple of months. There are things left to be desired with its design (such as somehow better leverage the suction part of the vacuum to place more pressure against the carpet for better suction) but other than that it is a dream. The dirty water tank seems to be lighter in color which each use. Carpet looks, feels and smells better. Per some of the complaints I saw in other reviews, I haven’t experienced some of them but I will say that this vacuum, as with most appliances, needs regular maintenance to be effective. Such as make sure the dirty tank water doesn’t go past the full line when using, cleaning out the brush roller, clean out the water suction part of any debris blockage, etc. ... show more

Bought this because the area we live in has a bunch of that red clay/dirt and our dog has long hair and brings it in and if she lays on carpet or any rug it will leave orange spots where she laid. This gets it up okay but after a few months of use the brush belt doesn't spin up right away and you gotta push it back and forth real quick to get the brush going. My dog had peed a lot in the floor from poor potty training methods. Coming home, it’d be the first thing to hit you in the face, and honestly drove me crazy. I cannot tell you how close I was to renting an industrial machine or hiring someone. Before I did, however, I choose to order this machine. Thank goodness I did!
