I'm sure I am not the first to put this together, but these are almost like a perfect marriage of the 2 shoe companies who specialize in super- supreme comfort for feet, fashion be damned! (I think they look good, but whatever). I have always been reluctant to spend the $100 + to have authentic Birkenstocks, and remember enjoying some knockoff brand sandals in the 90's. Well, these here let you try out Birkenstock engineering and comfort for a small percentage of the price. I have since then purchased some Birkenstock clogs, but this is my first day with them, so I will review those later. These are very comfortable, and I think the black ones look enough like leather to fool most. But the comfort!!!! I went to the park with my wife and walked several miles over various terrain, and my feet felt great. Likewise, I have worn them to work on casual day, and they stand up to all day wear as well. I also took them to the pool with no worries! Bottom line, if you've ever wanted to try a pair of Birkenstocks, this is an inexpensive way to experience the brilliance that has kept this company in business for over 2 centuries. They are also super light weight, and don't seem to harbor foot odor. (Not that I have any of that, of course). ... show more

Great Sandals!

I went into purchasing these thinking I would not like them, but I have been pleasantly surprised by how well they fit, how good they feel, and how durable they seem to be. Many times now I have forgotten I even have them on! No, they are not the same as an Arizona Sandal, not nearly as stiff, and there is tremendous give in the footbed, but not uncomfortably soft. The only "con" I really can offer is my feet sweat more due to the solid non-absorbent material, but the shoes themselves do not seem to retain any odor from it. And, since I use them outside most of the time, around the farm (chickens, horses, dogs, etc) they are easy to just rinse or wash off when needed. ... show more

Comfortable and durable!

I bought these as a low-cost alternative to the traditional leather and cork Birkenstock sandals. I wanted to test my size and see whether I would wear them enough to justify spending a lot of money of a pair of sandals. They fit perfectly, so much so that my kids wanted to know how I got sandals that were shaped like my wide, funny feet! They are also exceptionally comfortable. There is some room for improvement, though. The dished footbed will hold water, sand, and dirt, making them less than ideal for outdoor wear, especially at the beach. The sandals will also squeak loudly when they're wet. But, they are super comfortable! I've worn them all summer on all sorts of surfaces and they still look fairly new. The straps have softened and molded to the shape of my arches. All in all, I'm really happy with these sandals, so much so that I'm not sure I need to upgrade to the traditional style for any reason other than looks! ... show more

I never write reviews but holy crap these are amazing. Probably the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever owned. No breaking in period, no rubbing or stiffness, they were perfect straight out of the box. I probably could have gotten away with the size 9, but I’m a 9.5 and the 10 is only just slightly too big a footbed, but the straps keep them in place nicely. I can’t seem to take them off. The adidas adissage slides (The ones with the nubs on the bottom) that have been my ride or die for 20 years have officially been replaced. I want to own these in every color. ... show more

Great So Far

I bought these mainly because I love the look of Birkenstocks but have never had any luck with the regular ones feeling good on my feet, I tried so hard with different styles and all of them hurt my feet. So I bought these in black thinking they might be just the thing I needed to get the look without the pain. They are definitely lighter in weight then regular Birkenstocks. Another great plus is that you can get them dirty and just wash them right off. After wearing them a couple of days after purchasing I thought I was going to have to return them because I thought they were starting to hurt my feet as well. Thankfully I gave them another week and I guess I finally broke them in because they no longer hurt and I wear them basically everywhere. I have been wearing them for probably a month now, all of the time with no issues. I hope they can be a long lasting product like regular Birkenstocks. ... show more

BEST WATER WALKING SANDAL

I bought these water proof sandals to take to the islands with me and they were perfect for every occasion residing at a resort. They are slip resist proof. i wore them around a pool, in the ocean, on sand, and on cement. The sandals held up no problem. You can water hose them off, dry them then slip them right on to wear; perfect. I wore them on hot pavement and they held up fine looking new. These sandals are well worth the $ I spent for them. Now comparing them to a pair of Corkscrew Birkenstock, the bottom (base) feel is different. You can feel the arch support however not as firm as the corkscrew sandals. Also the bottom rubber of the sandal seems weak but it has upheld from walking hours on hot pavement. i wear 10 1/2 shoe (41) ; This sandal may be few centimeters short of the the the full fit of a corkscrew birkenstock. you can wear them in the shower or after showering. the sandals is very flexible in wear and texture. i give the rating 5 stars base on price and quality. The sandal isn't for rigorous walking like an athletic shoe. ... show more

Comfortable functional sandals

I have plantar fasciitis, so it is very hard for me to find comfortable shoes, especially sandals. Birkenstocks are pretty well known for their arch support and durability so I was excited to try them out, even though the price was a little higher than I would normally have paid for sandals. So far I have only used these as house slippers and they have been very comfortable both with and without socks. There was some break-in time but it wasn't that bad and they seem to be getting more comfortable the more I wear them. It will be interesting to see how they hold up once I am able to wear them outside in the spring, but the build quality seems very solid, so I'm not too worried. Overall I think this was a very good purchase. The price tag is high but they are very versatile and comfortable so it will be worth ie if they hold up for a couple of years. ... show more

These are uncomfortable& bc the material they won’t form to your arch of your foot. Blisters!!!

These are so uncomfortable. For all the noise around about Birkenstock’s- I believe these are probably not the most comfortable- (my first pair of birks) but I think the cork based pairs must be more comfortable. These rubbed blisters on the top of my foot and with little flexibility as you walk you have zero arch support and actual restriction.. unless you make them so lose they don’t touch the top of the foot at all- but then what’s the point in that? If they’re for the beach or short time periods they are ok. But better than using plastic & I’d choose eco friendly over anything ... show more
