This sturdy netting can be used for many purposes. It can be used over a poultry/chicken run, fruit trees & plants, bushes, a pool or hot tub (as a canopy to keep birds from dive bombing you), to make a portable chicken tractor, over a dog run, etc. We hatch/raise baby chicks & before they are big enough to go into the larger chicken run, they end up roosting on top of the fence (privacy height) which results in an almost comical nightly routine of trying to get them down. They also escape & hop into the dog run, which make zero sense to go from a large enclosure to a smaller one, but my chickens tend to prove that they are not the brightest creatures around, One of those hens got nabbed by a hawk when it went into the dog run. I was VERY disappointed after waiting for 3 weeks for her to hatch, watching her grow up, feeding/caring for her, only to get eaten 4 weeks from when she would have started to lay, after all of the time, care, & money spent raising her. Anyway, I was scrolling on Amazon for something & saw poultry netting, so I decided to try this. It was easy to spread out, & secure with zip strips. I used adjustable zip strips in case I need to rearrange it, etc. No more escapees, & no more hawk fodder at my expense. We also have an orchard & this netting works great at keeping the birds OFF, our kids from picking fruit before they are supposed to, &/or neighbor kids from stealing the fruit when we are not home. This netting would also make a great TRELLIS (you would need to anchor it to some tall metal or wood stakes for support) to grow some lighter weight garden plants, like beans, snap peas, herbs, etc. Heavier weight plants might work too, but you would likely end up having sagging of the net or having to readjust it. A work around to that might be be to try doubling the net up for more stability. So many uses for this netting. Now if we could keep the critters from digging into our beds & garden from UNDERground...that is my next endeavor to figure out. I WOULD purchase it again!

******* Update as of 12/28/23 - This Net is awesome!!! Still using the same I originally purchased and it JUST took a SECOND hawk hit and saved my birds!!!! Gave my rooster plenty of time to sound the alarm and get everyone to safety until I could scare it off!!!! GREAT PRODUCT!!!!! First, I would like to say that I put this net up by myself. When I pulled it out of the bag, it was a bit tangled, and it did take me a good while to untangle and then spread over the fence over my chicken run (I honestly felt like I was untangling Christmas lights for a bit). That being said, once I had it placed, I was happy with it, AND this net took a FULL FORCE hawk dive this morning and allowed my girls to get to safety with no harm! The hawk bounced up, and landed beside my heavy gauge fencing before then flying off. There was an indent where the hawk hit, where the net pulled slightly off the fence (I do have zip ties around the fence), but I was able to pull it back into place. There is ZERO damage to the netting! I couldn’t believe it. Seriously impressed with the durability and performance! Thanks for a great product!!!!

Small birds including robins fly right through it without hesitation, but it keeps thw hawks from getting my chickens. It years easily though, so if thwy tried, thwy could get in. I hung it over my fenced garden/chicken coop. This winter we had rain turn to a slow snow and it built up all over it and pulled it to the ground causing many holes from where I grabbed it to shake it off. It's is very delicate, but it's also very cheap. I'm going to supplement with the smaller square plastic netting over it instead of fixing the holes and string wires across the top in a grid to keep it from sagging next time.

I placed this over the top of my chicken run to protect them from hawks and owls. This is definitely a two person job, as you need one person to place and secure the netting while the other unravels and holds the net off the ground. The netting comes with orange loops at the ends. TI would also suggest raking the area you are working on, as this net seems to attract sticks and leaves and any loose vegetation like velcro. We didn't have any problem with it tangling into itself, but we constantly had to stop to remove sticks that were tangled. It will also gladly tangle itself around you or any other animals, so keep your pets and young children back! It is tedious, but we were able to untangle tangled things without having to cut. This has been up for 6 months and has survived heavy rain, large-ish branches falling on it, heavy winds, snow storms, and who knows what else. I have not noticed any tears in the netting. No predators have gotten through it as of yet, but I don't know if anything has actually tried. The stuff is durable, but I imagine a raccoon or determined fox could climb the fence and rip or chew it if they wanted, but they might strangle themselves or get hopelessly tangled in the process. I left about two feet of the netting draped over the outside of the run in hopes that anything attempting to scale the fence would be deterred by the net grabbing at their legs.
