The Bele Unisex Winter Heavyweight Mask/Balaclava is one extremely nice piece of clothing. In fact, for hunters and fishers, I wouldn't even call it 'clothing' - I'd call it GEAR! This Balaclava isn't made of of thin material, so the wind is not going to be cutting through it very easily. The main part of it is a hood, drawstrings attached, and that is pretty standard (except for the higher quality material compared to others I have seen marketed at major stores in the US). The hood, however, does not stop at the neck - there's enough material to make sure you can tuck the base of it into your shirt, jacket, whatever, to make you just that much more wind-proof! There is also an interior mask, attached to the hood, that you can leave down or pull up to cover your mouth, or mouth And nose. Snug everything down with the drawstrings and you're going to be loving the protection from wind and cold this headgear provides! The one I have is in basic black. Which is a good thing, since black absorbs radiant heat and coverts it to convection heat. Which means it will keep you even warmer and, from the point of view of someone who's going to be fishing on the Gulf of Mexico in the winter, every little detail helps. The appearance is pretty awesome, really. It'd make a great tactical cover for miltary or law enforcement personel and, for the young or young at heart, it'd make a neat looking Ninja style hood/mask! Prior to receiving my new favorite piece of headgear I had some communications with the nice folks over at Bele/Jewelry-BELE and I have to say: They have Excellent customer service...truly great at communication and I will be doing business with them again in the future. In fact, I just ordered several items from thier Amazon store front, where they offer an interesting range of fairly diverse items. The best thing? They're not trying to get ALL your money - Thier prices are actually pretty darned reasonable! All in all, pleased with the purchase, pleased with the service and pleased with the price!

I have bought several of this type of head/hat/wrap type of things. The big difference with this one is that it is big enough to get your head through without feeling claustrophobic. It also has this inner piece of fabric on the interior that pulls up to your face and over your nose if you prefer on those really cold days. I recommend this product because it is made with quality fabric and it performs as described.

Very warm . Winds are 25 plus right now , neck chest and head are warm. Only down side is it's a little snug , so it doesn't pullback.

I was looking for something more versatile, to keep my neck warm all the time that I could throw the hood up as needed. But there is no wearing this hood down comfortably between the thickness of the material and the multiple layers (hood, mask, gaiter.) I was not expecting the mask to go all the way around, don't know why the back of my head needs a mask. I'll donate it to charity, no doubt a homeless person will appreciate it much more than me.

This Balaclava Hood is comfortable and keeps the entire head and neck very warm - without feeling suffocated. It precludes breathing frigid winter air. Just what I was looking for. Just what I wanted. I don't like the heavy, thick knitted, tight fitting full face toboggans...this is just loose enough and light enough to be comfortable and yet, very warm and very enjoyable to wear.

This is the first time I’ve written a review for a product, and I must say with regret that my first entry is not good. This hat/baclava is absolutely worthless. It doesn’t fit, it’s uncomfortable, and not even remotely warm. The snow actually seems to stick to it worse than a violent codependent relationship. I’ve tried to use it in every conceivable application..full face, just as a mask..just as a mock hood and nothing works. Yes, it’s only ten bucks, and you get what you pay for, so if you want to throw money out the window..I only ask you aim for my house.

I honestly don't know where people can find reason to complain about something like this. A year back I bought a more expensive version of a similar face mask/hat combo for $20...I lost it, and decided to get this on Amazon. This isn't only $10 cheaper, but MUCH thicker, and it performs as well as it can (if you NEED your whole face covered without having to worry about adjusting anything, get a ski mask), this thing has been perfect for me this winter on my way to/from classes. It's cozy, soft, and warm. Although it's not the coldest region, I'm from MN and the temperature goes from 15F to -20F regularly, with wind chill.
