  • Ultra-silent Stepper Motor Driver: BIGTREETECH tmc2209 v1.3 stepper motor driver adopts StealthChop2 silent motor operation technology is an ultra-silent motor driver IC for two-phase stepper motors. Continuous current up to 2.0A (peak 2.8A), voltage ranges from 4.75v to the maximun output of 28v. It can operate bipolar stepper motors from 1 to 1/256 step modes
  • BTT TMC2209 stepper motor driver support UART, STEP/ DIR Mode, except that you need to modify the firmware for the mode you use. for detailed tutorials, please refer to the BIGTREETECH GITHUB instructions
  • Sensorless Homing: BTT tmc2209 v1.3 stepper motor driver uses Stallguard4 locked motor technology to detect changes in motor current, providing an abnormal signal when the motor rotates abnormally. And use this measurement to detect the end of axis' stroke and produce 3D printers without limit switches
  • Widely Compatible: TMC 2209 stepper driver with most 3D printer motherboards on the market, such as btt octopus v1.1/octopus pro, skr v1.4 turbo/skr 3, Manta M4P/M5P/M8P, MKS Gen L... etc. It saves the expensive cost of redesign. It can perfectly replace the original non-silent TMC2100/A4988/DRV8825/LV8729 stepper driver and is the most cost-effective choice
  • Avoid losing steps and jittering: The motor controlled by the PWM chopper mode operated more smoothly and without jitter. It can effectively avoid problemsuch as running deviation losing step and fault caused by the overlode of the chip. Better printing effect

Description

BIGTREETECH TMC2209 V1.3 stepper motor driver adopts StealthChop2 ultra-quiet technology. It is an ultra-silent motor driver IC for two-phase stepper motors. Its continuous drive current is 2A and peak current is 2.8A. Compared with TMC2208, the driving current of this IC is not only improved by 0.6A-0.8A, but also this IC increases the function of locked-motor test. 1. When the driver is inserted into the motherboard, please pay attention to see the direction of the drive, can not be inserted in reverse, to prevent the drive from burning. 2. Be sure to do a good job before driving heat dissipation work (heat sink + fan), to prevent the drive is not working properly. 3. Pay attention to the wiring sequence and I/O port when wiring. If the wrong line is connected, the driver will not work properly. Please connect according to the Github manual. Control chip: TMC2209-LA Chip; Logic supply voltage(VIO): 3-5V; Motor supply voltage(VM): 4.75V-28V DC; Peak current: 2.8A; Current RMS: 2A; Native Microsteps 2: Up to 1/256; Operating mode: STEP/DIR or UART; Configuration: CFG Pins or UART; BIGTREETECH TMC2209 V1.3 stepper motor driver uses StealthChop2 ultra-quiet technology to reduce motor noise to a silent state, allowing it to operate in an extremely quiet environment. TMC2209 stepper driver uses SpreadCycle high-dynamic motor control chopper to control the motor to run more stably and without jitter, effectively avoiding problems such as deviation, step loss, and failure caused by chip overload. BTT TMC2209 V1.3 driver uses CoolStep current dynamic control to save 75% of energy. It has a large area heat dissipation pad to reduce the temperature of the driver during operation. BTT TMC2209 support STEP/DIR mode. Select working mode MS1, MS2, configure the micro-step resolution of stepper input. For detailed settings, please refer to TMC2209 V1.3 Github manual for settings. TMC2209 stepper motor driver defaults to UART mode. If you use the 5th pin as the UART pin, you need to remove the resistor and solder it to the two pads below. Turn the potentiometer clockwise: reduce Vref to reduce the driver current, turn it counterclockwise to increase the driver current. BIGTREETECH is commited to establishing a complete 3D printing ecosystem, striving to bring more possibilities to 3D printing industry and pushing the technological advancement of 3D printers to make 3D printers faster, better, and easier!

  • Very quiet and smooth, works great, no BS
Style: 6*TMC2209
I am not an expert with these types of motor controllers. I first bought a Synthetos shield but was noisy. When I went to build a second device, they were out of stock so I ended up buying a CNC shield off Amazon with some other motor drivers.. It was a disaster, never worked right, was noisy when it worked, was missing steps, caught fire once, ended up shorting out and blowing up my laptop. Then I bought a set of these. I had to remove the two extra pins for diagnostics, because they were in the way of the CNC shield’s own pins. This was easily achieved by heating up the solder joints, and then pulling out the pins. With that being said, I plugged it directly into the CNC shield, and it was instantly working correctly, with no missed steps, and very quietly.. much quieter than the other motor controllers and much quieter than the G shield. I highly recommend these motor drivers ... show more

  • Completely silent and works for Artillery S2
Style: 1*TMC2209
Bamm, just like that brought my Artillery S2 back to printing. I have to say after trying several other replacements, this one is dead silent like the original driver. Thank you! Edit: Awwww for some reason the step motor on my printer now runs backward. Boo. I think it's still a five star for someone else. I don't want to learn how to edit my firmware for this. ... show more

I installed these on my Anycubic mega s and low noise level and print quality is insane

  • perfect
Style: 6*TMC2209
Use these to run motors on peristaltic pumps for dosing my saltwater aquarium additives. Works great just using the enable, step and microstepping inputs. Love the heatsinks that come with these, wish I could find those separately to use on other components.

  • Cool running and accurate
Style: 5*TMC2209
these work much better than the A4988 drivers for about A4988 drivers I was using. The poteniometer adjustments are accurate (don't need much of a turn). They stay cool.

  • Good upgrade for A4988
Style: 5*TMC2209
Got these to replace 4988 drivers so I could drive 24 volt motors. They are a direct plug in replacement on the Arduino cnc shield with two caveats. First there are two pins sticking down between the two rows which are not necessary. I cut them flush. Second, be very careful to identify orientation. They are different than the 4988. Produce absolutely silent motor drive. Excellent ... show more

  • Works great, rough documentation and minor workmanship issues
Style: 4*TMC2209
Overall seems to be a good product. Took a star off because the header pin soldering job wasn’t great, stray solder on some of the posts that I had to remove with solder wick before I could connect them to anything. Documentation is a little rough. Used in a raspberry pi zero 2w project. I found a good library, TMC-2209-Raspberry-Pi 0.5.7, which also had good instructions for how to wire things up. To get the UART to work bidirectionally, connect RX on TMC to RX on pi directly. Then short the Pi RX to the Pi Tx via a 10k resistor. Would not work with MS1 and MS2 floating, have to tie them both to ground to use address 0. Works great with nema17s. ... show more
