This was the ONLY cold weather rated sleeping bag for an infant that I could find. I bought the larger size so that my grandson will be able to use it for at least a couple of camping seasons. We used it on a family camping trip recently where temps got down into the 30s at night. It kept him toasty warm throughout the night. The prices have gone up on this recently which was the only downside. Still, if he stays safe and warm through the night it's worth the expense. This was his first camping trip and he loved it which means he will be going on more throughout the camping season. We bought this for our camping trip in Washington state in early September and though it got down to the 40’s, my son was toasty. I tried sharing a sleeping bag with him in may and it was a disaster, I barely slept. My son wiggles around a lot and needs his own space and this gave me piece of mind since I knew he wouldn’t wiggle out of his sleeping bag. His hands were always warm and when he awoke in the morning he was totally warm in his sleeping bag. I definitely recommend! This is perfect for camping with littles. The only thing that would make it better was if the hands were convertible so they can open and close. Being able to use their hand when they want to them cover them back up to stay warm. And it the bottom zipped open so the kiddos could walk around. Having a 3 year old that knows how to walk have yo be carried around can be a bit much ... show more

We bought this for camping with our two year old. For being a rip-stop like fabric, it’s actually surprisingly soft. Comfortable for sleep, especially if it’s very cold. However, the hands not having an option to open may be an adjustment for toddlers not used to having their hands covered. Depending on height (if they’re on the taller side it’d be cutting it close), this could easily fit up to 4. We used it last weekend in the low 40s weather in CO. Camping in a 3 season tent. This special sleeping bag helped all of us sleep better! There is still a lot of room for our 1.5 year old. Our son moves a lot during his sleep but the sleeping bag stayed on and kept him safe and warm. Super lightweight, compact, super soft.
