We purchased the large-sized bean bag chair in oat as a Christmas gift to our son hoping for a uber comfy setting for him to game or watch movies in our basement family room. I'm pretty obsessed when it comes to researching any purchase and it's often difficult to discern truthful reviews especially, it seems, on Amazon. That said, take this for what it's worth to you... THE GOOD: * The fabric. The fabric IMO is of great quality. While it feels like it will be quite durable, it still feels nice and soft. In addition, we have two dogs and this fabric seems less attractive to their hair then the microfiber bean bag we purchased after this one. The fabric is outstanding. * Construction: The bean bag seems very well put together. When fluffing, lifting/dropping, kicking, etc... this thing is well built • The size. We used the sizing feature from our cell phone to place different size bean bags in the space and the large fit just as it showed in the image. THE BAD Everything else. Unfortunately the main reason one purchases a bean bag is for a super cushy, supported, comfy sitting experience. The Big Joe failed for us miserably. We followed the instructions to a T. We waited and let it expand for a couple days before sitting on it, fluffing, rotating, kicking, etc during that time. When it came time to give it a go, my teenage son (5'-11" approx. 170lbs) sat it in and pretty much went the floor.... maybe an inch or two shy. Being much bigger (6'-1" and 255lbs) I did go to the floor. And being that this is filled with recycled foam pieces and not say, memory foam... even though the material is relatively thick you can still feel the lumpiness of the foam chunks – not a deal breaker but not ideal either. We had thought about adding more foam but because there isn't a zipper pull (supposedly for safety reasons) we tried everything to open the bag but couldn't — Big Joe customer service gave us some ideas as to how to open but none worked. I also didn't want to pay even more money on foam to make it work. The images on Amazon sitting in the bean bag chair are misleading. If my son could sit in the bean bag chair supported like that off the ground this review would have been much different... but that isn't the case and we now have a new expensive dog bed. For what it's worth, we purchased one from Target after this one and it wasn't much better. After having a conversation with another parent who purchased one my son loves — if you're looking for a super comfy, super supported bean bag look at Moon Pods but be prepared to spend a fortune (which we won't)... My son is going to have to deal with what we have and share them with the dogs.

i bought the large in oat. unfortunately it had about a 5 day wait and they had to extend my delivery deadline because they waited until the last possible second to ship it out to me. the package was HUGE but surprisingly light. DO NOT open the package somewhere if youre gonna have to drag the bean bag around, this thing is heavy and the second you open the box it expands and blows up right in your face. mine was already MASSIVE after leaving it alone for 30 minutes, i didn't really have to push the foam around but i did it anyways. i'm 5'5" and 190lb and i think its super comfortable. the cover feels thick and high-quality, and the foam is comfortable as well. you kinda have to refluff it everytime you get up but that's optional. i've slept on it the past 2 nights in a row but i don't think id recomend it anymore then like, a nap. lying down on it for a long period of time put some strain on my back. my brother is 6'1" and 230lb and he said it was super comfortable and didn't wanna get up. the first HOUR i had it, it had a very subtle smell. it actually smelled like glue. i sprayed it and it went away super fast. overall a super good purchase, just don't expect fast shipping!

First off, when you get this bean bag, you need to spend a few days fluffing it and breaking apart the foam inside as it becomes stuck together when vacuum packed into the box. It also takes a few days for the closed cell foam to decompress and expand back to its original state. With that being said, after allowing mine to fully expand I still feel like it could use some additional stuffing. I feel like my butt is only 3 or 4 inches away from the ground. Dont get me wrong, its still comfortable, but not really what I would call supportive. Bear in mind I'm a 270lb guy, though. I will probably buy some shredded memory foam to add to it. I still like it a lot. Its great for sitting in while I play on my guitar. I would buy it again because the material its made from is really think and the stitching seems to be heavy duty enough to last me some time. One more thing to note is mine doesn't have tabs on the zippers which is going to make it a slight pain to open up to add stuffing. A paperclip will work fine. Not sure if its just mine, or if they're all like that. Its only for that reason ill be giving it 4 stars and not 5.

Purchased for young adults. Have had these for going on 2 years now . They hold up great! Still look good. Large enough to really take the place of a big comfy chair or loveseat for movie watching.

My whole family LOVES this bean bag. It comes in this smallish box and took a week to fully expand. We still talk about the size comparison of the box it came in to the size it is now. It is so perfect for us! My sons are now these big teens and we needed another spot in the living room for seating. And when I came across this bean bag I took a chance and it has been awesome for us. The foam inside just molds to your body. I took a nap in it the other day - not on purpose. When I go to sit in it, I pick it up and turn it on a side, and then cozy in. Doing that will "fluff" the bag and give you a refresh on the seating. The instructions even say to do this for the first week to help the foam expand. It is also my new "work at home" chair on some days. Enjoy!

I bought the large and it was delivered about 4 days ago. I waited until it completely fluffed before I wrote this review. I’m 6’4”, 220 lbs. and this bag is perfect for me. I read a hundred reviews before deciding to purchase this one. Here are my thoughts based on what others said. It does not go flat, unless they sat on it and wrote their review on day one. Mine did not have a “chemical smell” or any smell for that matter. It is big enough for 2 children or 1 adult. (I got the large) I would definitely buy another one and probably will. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because it could use a little bit more stuffing to completely fill the bag. Not enough to complain about though. I hope this helps.
