For a "hobbyist" tool, this is seems quite adequate. Yeah I'm not rebuilding an engine with it, but it is of sufficient thickness to not be junk and the spring/adjustment mechanism seem to be pretty solidly build. I purchased to make O.D. measurements of thingss like pipes etc. where accuracy of .001" is not needed, I read the result with a tape measure or use it to compare pieces.     • Great calipers for the money
These are nice calipers for around the house handyman use at a good price. The screw setting stays in place and the pointed ends provide a nice spot to measure from. Unless you are a machinist needing extremely accurate measurements, these should serve you well.

If you are a machinist who needs dead-on accuracy, buy a Starrett. If you are a woodworker and need accuracy within a few thousandths of an inch, this will do fine. I am quite satisfied with this caliper. Were I to loose this one, I would buy another just like it.
