  • My first sheet music; perfect.
These are easy to look at and the numbered fingering is really helpful. If you are a beginner it would take you years to master all of these. The songs I've learned so far all sound very nice. I paid extra for the spiral bound and do not regret it; it makes it a joy to use on my music stand with no concerns about bending or wearing out the binding. ... show more

  • Easy to Play Requested Classics
the selection and arrangements filled a need for a non-religious memorial service. Excellent book which could be better if spiral bound.

  • Excellent introduction to classical repertoire
Great arrangements for early to late beginner. I really like how each song has an introduction. Songs are arranged by author not level of difficulty.

  • Closer to intermediate than beginner.
I think this is a good book. It’s just not a good book for me. I’m an adult learner, and I’ve only been playing for a month or so. I could handle most of these songs one hand at a time, but I can’t even come close to playing both hands at the same time. My instructor said that this book is more like an early intermediate book than a true beginner book. ... show more

  • It is what it is
I read other's comment about this too simple, or that they did not know what the music should sound like, or that it isn't the complete works of music. It isn't supposed to be the definitive version of the works presented. They are super short versions. They are meant to be tools for practice - and it is to one's benefit if they haven't heard the works before (which I find hard to believe - I knew all of them). The works in this book are difficult enough for a progressing beginner in sight reading to use to get more proficient. It does that well. The works are a little short - but then again they are meant to teach; they should not be too long as you'll likely be repeating each 4 bars over and over again to get the timing and/or fingering. It's a learning tool - it does this well. ... show more

  • Beautiful classical pieces, easy and fun to play
I love this book. I learnt reading notes when I was a teenager. I am about to turn 50 and this book made it fun for me to start playing again. It is a mix of beautiful classical pieces arranged for beginners. I am buying volume 2 today. Thank you to the author.

  • good book,simple music,NOT a teaching book
The book is ,overall, a good BEGINNER'S book. None of the pieces have any chords or harmonics. Also,I didn't recognize many of the pieces, so I didn't know what they were supposed to sound like.
