Good pens
Reviewed in the United States on July 7, 2026 by Anthony Espinal
These are pens. Duh. There's a TON of them. Also duh. They're your pretty standard cheapo ball points and they work just fine. As Bic name brand, they're standard affair, the kind you would encounter in an office or at school. They do that ballpoint thing where you have to scribble a bit to get them started, but that's normal. The mix leans heavily on black pens, making up around half, then there's a decent number of blew and several red. They list it as 50 black, 36 blue and 10 red, and that sounds right, but I did not count them. Sorry. But if you need a ton of pens, this is a great option.

As a teacher, you can never have too many pens, and this bulk pack has been a fantastic purchase. BIC pens have always been one of my go-to brands because they're dependable, write smoothly, and last a long time. Having a large assortment of black, blue, and red ink means I'm always prepared for grading papers, taking notes, planning lessons, or writing on classroom materials. The ink flows consistently without skipping, and the medium point creates clean, easy-to-read writing. I've had very few issues with pens drying out or failing to write, which is more than I can say for many budget brands. They also feel comfortable in my hand, even during long grading sessions. One thing I especially appreciate is the value. Buying in bulk is much more economical than picking up smaller packs throughout the school year. Between students occasionally borrowing pens, coworkers needing one, and the mysterious way pens seem to disappear in every classroom, it's nice to have plenty on hand without worrying about running out. The assortment of colors is also useful. I primarily use black for everyday writing, blue for notes, and red for grading, so having all three in one box is incredibly convenient. Whether you're a teacher, student, office worker, or anyone who writes regularly, this is an excellent value. Reliable, affordable, and long-lasting, these are truly a classroom must-have that I'll continue purchasing year after year.

These are the Bic pens you know and love. I am sure almost everyone has used one of these pens in their lifetimes. They are high quality and a great value for the money. You get three different commonly used colors, and they all write smoothly and look vibrant (except black of course). I didn't have any issues with the ink coming out evenly or having to lick the tip or write over any areas where ink didn't come out. The pens are simple but durable and well made. They are thing so they can easily fit in a pocket or purse, but the size and thickness are still very comfortable to hold. Since you get so many pens and multiple colors, these are very versatile for home, office, or school use. If you need a large amount of good pens without spending a lot, this box is the perfect choice.

Just as described and pictured. I'm guessing there isn't a person over the age of 13 who has not written with a Bic pen. Everyone knows the name and the product. It's the standard pen of students and office workers everywhere. They are reliable, long lasting, comfortable, and affordable. This bulk pack contains 96 pens at 16 cents a pen. Where can you buy any tangible product for 16 cents these days? Plus, you get black, blue, and red in the same bulk pack for extra convenience. I just randomly grabbed a pen, black, and wrote with it for awhile. The ink came right out, never skipped, and my writing flowed smoothly and easily (despite the fact that I have a slight tremor). The pens are comfortable and easy to hold. And this package is advertised as Xtra Life - Extra Long Lasting. At my house, for as long as I can remember, someone has always been searching for a pen. Where do they go? This bulk pack is the solution. I'm so happy to have this and I'm planning on it lasting for a good while. What's not to like? Highly recommend.

The writing experience is consistent and predictable. Ink flow is smooth for everyday writing tasks like notes, forms, and general office or home use. They’re not premium pens, but they’re reliable in the way you expect from basic BIC ballpoints. The 1.0 mm medium point produces a fairly bold line, which works well for visibility and quick writing. It’s not ideal for ultra-fine detail work, but it’s great for general-purpose use. Having a 96-pack is really about convenience and cost efficiency. It’s ideal for offices, classrooms, or keeping pens in multiple locations without worrying about losing them. The clear barrel design makes it easy to see ink levels, and the simple construction means there’s very little that can go wrong mechanically. Durability is decent for disposable pens. The “Xtra Life” claim mostly holds up in the sense that they last longer than expected for a basic pen before drying out or skipping. Overall, this is a dependable bulk pen option. Nothing fancy, but consistent performance, low cost per unit, and excellent for high-usage environments where pens tend to disappear.

This review is for the BIC round stic xtra life ballpoint pens, medium point 1.0 mm. It’s a box of 96 pens- 10 red, 36 blue, and 50 black. The pens are very basic; they are round with a cap, quite lightweight, and comfortable enough to use. They are quite durable for the price though the caps are prone to getting lost or loose over time. They are a fantastic value. They are perfect for school when you know your kid will probably lose half of them. I would also use these in something like a business setting where people are filling out something like a registration form or survey. It took a second to get the ink flowing but then the ink was smooth and relatively dark. Overall they are very functional and priced well.
