Like more other reviews, I will echo that you MUST MUST MUST follow the instructions down to the letter. If you do, you will not have any issues. It took almost 1/2 day with 2 people for us to assemble the bunk bed. But it looks really beautiful, sturdy. We (adults) tried sleeping in the upper bunk as well and it never creaked and was like a solid rock. Hope it can withstand the test of time :-) ... show more

I went to several large retail furniture stores and looked at the quality of the beds, and then I went online and started comparing price, with materials, size, and after about a month I kept coming back to this set. I finally decided to order it because at this price point, why not? It was delivered in perfect condition. It took about 5 hours to put together, but this is a wood set and well worth the effort. Make sure to screw down all wood slats and space them evenly. This is a solid set and I am delighted with the quality! My grandkids are going to love them! Thank you!!! ... show more

I'd like to start off by saying that if all the pieces would have come without an issue, I would have been severely impressed with this bed. Right off the bat opening the boxes, we had a piece for the bookcase/stairs that was broken off, but it's one of those pieces that is basically just there to hold the backing on, so it wasn't a big deal. Skip forward 3 hours, Bottom bed completely together, Bookcase/Stairs completely together. The screw won't go in one of the holes of the headboard and my husband notices that it is a bit more shallow than the other 3 out of 4 screw holes. We shine a flashlight in there and can see metal. The manufacturer broke a drill bit off down in the screw hole. So, with pieces strung out all over my living room, we're staring at each other trying to figure out what to do. I immediately got on with support. The initial solution: take everything apart and put it back in the boxes for a return and replacement. Yeah right! 3+ hours of work down the drain and seriously who could even come close to packaging all of that stuff up again in a way that it fits in the boxes, then wait for a replacement. I've got kids sleeping on the floor, because the old bed was removed. 2nd solution, 10 % partial refund on the item and we've got to deal with and figure out how to make this work. Finally ended on 20% partial refund for a little over $100, but in my opinion isn't satisfactory. No one wants to redneck rig a brand new item. Especially something that is keeping your child safe while they sleep 5 feet off of the floor. My husband ended up digging up the drill bit (3" long), but not without damage. A chunk is now missing out of the headboard and we're hoping to get it fixed in a way that it looks okay and is going to hold the bed securely. It is extremely frustrating to me when sellers have these items that have 1,000 parts and they can't offer a replacement for the 1 item. You have to send everything back, for a full replacement, and hope that there's not an issue with the replacement. However, with all of that said, had this item not had a drill bit stuck in the screw hole and the little piece broke of the bookcase/stairs I would have really loved this bed. It's made of actual wood and it meets all of our needs. ... show more

Just received the bed today it came in 3 boxes we wasted no time getting it in the house and just getting everything set up to where we could find and grab things took about 2 hours we started assembling the bed and boom the 2nd piece in that we had to screw was a incorrectly drilled hole so it wouldn't match up and we had to make due. We expected this because every review on this bed said it would happen I guess I wasn't expecting it to happen so fast..... will post picture and edit with update once we are finished Edit: We finally finished 3 days later while I'll admit I love the way the bed looks finally finished it was a absolute nightmare to put together while it has a very nice looking end result things to note and mention are the railing to the stairs very flimsy and if one of the kids presses too hard very likely to break. The top loft of the bed is quite shaky with any movement and is a little unsettling will definitely anchor for peace of mind on a nice note the 2 drawers are actually quite deep and appear to be able to hold quite a bit of stuff but at the same time if someone sits on the bed it stops the drawers from being able to slide out. One good note the shelves are awesome definitely room for knick knacks and treasures although the backing for them had to be altered to go on correctly as well. It was very confusing and wouldn't have taken so long to put it together had it not been for so many mislabeled pieces and holes not drilled in the right place. Moral of the story you get what you pay for and only you can decide if this is worth the trouble. On a happy note the kids do love it and I pray for many good years of use. ... show more

Very sturdy difficult assembly since pieces were labeled incorrectly and some screw holes were in the incorrect place. Once we rescrewed and figured it out it is beautiful and perfect for the kids room.
