My wife and I installed this in her 2020 Ram 1500. It was an easy install with concise instructions. There is another company selling this with a software installer for it but they want $450.⁰⁰ for the whole kit! I was going to buy their software writer for $149.⁰⁰ but the seller said if you use a cheaper version like what I purchased it won't come with all the goodies like 4 separate trailers to program into your dash screen! That was a lie! I went to my local Dodge dealer and they programmed it for $185.⁰⁰ and I have all the functions a factory unit has! I highly recommend this item. It's good value for the money 💰.

Installed on dodge ram 1500,modual did not apply the trailer brake, they sent me a new one. It applied the trailer brake but sent error messages when trailer was not on the truck. Product is CRAP

Install was straight forward. I did use YouTube first, and that made install easier. The dealership went on the computer and activated the code which turned on the controller. I can’t see specific information like I can on a 2017 5500. I plugged the trailer in and moved with using the trailer brake isolater and the brakes did engage. I then used the gain controls until it felt right. I couldn’t see any number but brakes did engage. The dash control looks great just as if it had always been there. It’s still too early to tell of the overall quality but the one time I have used it it was great.

Avoid at all costs. This module is not compatible with my 2019 Ram Rebel or is defective, as it would not program correctly even when using AlphaOBD. The module’s internal resistance/communication does not appear to match OEM specifications, causing the truck to behave as though a trailer is connected when none is present and eventually triggering error codes. For context, I installed and programmed everything myself using AlphaOBD—no dealer or third-party installation involved. I later purchased an OEM trailer brake controller module and switch from eBay, installed and programmed them without any issues. Additionally, the switch included in this kit is of poor quality. The +/- buttons stick, the manual gain lever feels fragile and likely to break, and the switch does not illuminate like the factory OEM unit. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this kit and going with OEM components instead.

Bought this product 9 months before installation and just installed it. The module, bracket, and switch seemed of decent quality. My only complaint was that the inserts for the screws did not fit the OEM holes snuggly and the top one popped out and wasn't noticed until I had screwed in the lower 2. This whole bracket installation is such a pain due to the tight confines under the dash. I left the top screw empty, but thinking I should have just used a plastic push fastener, or Plastic car Bumper Clips to secure the bracket. A zip tie is near impossible to fasten the top. Just save yourself hassle and buy an assortment of plastic push pins and use those to install the bracket. There are several videos of using AlfaOBD to program your truck to recognize the module. You still need to purchase app, and likely need the SGW bypass cable and a OBD2 connector. I used a similar app called JSCAN since I already owned it and eventually found the option to enable the module listed as ITBM. Both the ALFAOBD and JSCAN sight will list what parts are needed for both sets of software (The cable and the bluetooth adapter). I found people on Youtube showing software for AlfaOBD, but not JSCAN. I haven't towed anything, but I see the brake settings now and the switch adjusts brake power levels.

The + button sticks and the unit itself makes clicking noises, after speaking with seller, all they want to do is send me a new unit but will not cover the cost of programming , so basically damned
