The boats are a lot of fun, our grandsons love racing them around in the pool, after 2 months we had an issue with one of the boats not working, after contacting the seller and sending some videos they did send us not only the one boat replacement but the entire set. I have over 20 years of experience with RC planes, boats and cars. These boats are great fun. I bought them to take on vacation to a beach house. Good range on the radio. The self righting feature is wonderful. I was very pleased to find that the throttle and steering are proportional and it has a low speed reverse. A very nice feature is that you can set a max speed with a dial on the hand control. This let's you set it lower for extended run time, for younger kids, or for pool use. My 4 year old grandson ran it with my help and the top speed set low, which is still fast enough for fun. I would expect most 8 year olds could master these. Interesting safety feature, the boat won't run unless the boat is in the water. You can't accidentally run the motor out of the water making it safer for kids. Battery life is good. When the battery in the boat gets low you get an alarm on the hand control. It leaves you enough power to bring the boat back. You get a reasonable run on the battery but recharge is 1-2 hours. Only downside is you can't buy extra batteries of the right size with the right connector so you can't swap batteries while running both boats at the same time. I had a question that I posted to the company. I got a response the same day by email. Excellent customer service. Recommended! Nice travel case. We will have a lot of fun with these. ... show more

They connected the first time the batteries were inserted and the remotes turned on. It was fun for 5 mins only very poor quality boats are taking water, Hull not 100% water proof. ( hull is made of 2 pieces and has no sealant between) First boat suffered severe damages to water and became unusable after first use. ( electronics short circuit due to water ingress) even though it was well closed and locked The second boat, even adding silicone grease on gasket, the boat still takes water. electrical connections inside the boat are all corroded after couple of test run:.
