My 8-year-old loves this. There is a learning curve, but he has had a fun time learning. It has been crashed a few times and still works, so it is durable. I think this is a good beginner RC plane for a child.

This is a fun little plane that is easy to fly and durable. I flew it in a mild wind and it stayed under control the whole time. Make sure to have a large area (baseball field or so) to fly it. It has a nice long battery life as I flew 15 min without a low battery notice. The biggest challenge with this RC plane is finding a large enough open space to fly it. My son received it for Christmas, and he absolutely loves it! We had to search for a spot where it wouldn’t end up in water or stuck in a tree. Setting it up was easy, but controlling it took some practice—it definitely has a learning curve, especially with its wide turning radius. We found that a hand launch made takeoff much easier. The material is flexible enough to withstand multiple crashes and even a few tree encounters. Overall, it's a lot of fun and a great gift for RC enthusiasts! ... show more

Got this plane for my grandson's birthday. He attempted to fly it once with his father, but the plane lost contact with the remote controller and flew away, out of sight, never to be found again. A very expensive 10 minutes of entertainment and saddest, most disappointing present ever.
