Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X Overview: The beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X is a premium headset for monitoring applications that features a closed-back, over-ear design and is part of the Pro X series launched by the company in 2021. It features sound insulating technology to effectively shut out ambient noise, and its new drivers deliver optimum sound quality. The visually appealing ear pads ensure a high level of comfort, with the added bonus that they can also be replaced if necessary, as can the padding on the headband. The DT 700 Pro X has a single cable connection located on the left side, and users can choose between two removable mini-XLR cables – 1.8 m and 3 m long, respectively, and each equipped with a 3.5 mm stereo jack and a 6.3 mm adapter. Of course, the scope of delivery also includes the obligatory transport case. Besides boasting excellent sound quality, the DT 700 Pro X premium headphones are also very comfortable to wear, so “fatigue” won’t set in while wearing them. The padded spring steel headband with an optimum contact pressure of 5.3 N keeps the DT 700 Pro X with its soft velour ear pads perfectly in place throughout those prolonged and action-packed recording sessions. Users can thus concentrate fully on playing their instrument or on getting the best possible vocal performance without having to keep adjusting their headphones – which of course makes this headset a particularly attractive option for use in recording environments where it has to be worn for prolonged periods of time. I saw that a lot of professional musicians doing reaction videos on YT were using Beyerdynamic headphones, DT 770's (closed back) and DT 990's (open back). The DT 700 Pro X is the successor to the DT 770. One feature I especially like is that the DT 700 cord is detachable. It comes with the nicer cushions available only on the 250-ohm DT 770. It is very comfortable for long listening sessions. The construction is very sturdy. And the DT 700 impedance is 48 ohms, making it perfect for computers and phones (no amplifier needed}. my firts set of beyerdynamic was the dt770s and i thought they sounded great,now i bought the dt700s and they sound downright amazing the bass has a firm thump to it,the mid are very clear and the highs sound sweet and clear now i know these terms are subjective but to me they are easily the best phones i have ever heard. the factory cables are the worst i've seen they are still in the box they are stiff and unyielding the silicone case does not slide on my clothes easly.so on the auction site i found a very nice selection of 8 core and 16 core headphone cables that are very nice to use and they just plug right in to the dt700s and they come in so many lengths , all shorter or longer and they seem to sound some what cleaner and detailed. the sound stage is very wide, some of the instruments even seem to come from behind me. given the need i would definitely buy these Agin ,i just wish i bought the dt700s first. i can even hear details in the music i have never heard before , i am starting to enjoy my music in new ways now its just like rediscovering music all over again. i just a second pair of dt 700's for a spare set ,these phones are so engaging it is very easy to get lost in the music. with these phones i can hear nuances in the music i have not heard before i.e. singers voices/instruments that other phones have masked. to add a new note these phones are just so engaging i just to had to have a spare pair. after a 3 months of enjoying these phones they always surprising me how great they sound,i am always hearing details in the music i have not heard before. the voices are clear and crisp and the bass is firm and well defined ... show more

    • Surprised that overall sound is better than on the DT 900
Bass on the closed back DT 700 is stronger than on DT 900 - that's as expected. I expected the open back DT 900 PRO X to have more transparent highs. It did not. And I found the DT 700 PRO X to have a more even spectrum. I thought the DT 900 would be "airier", like say an AKG 702. It was not. The soundstage and high frequency response were better on the DT 700. All in all, the DT 700 PRO X offer excellent response from bottom to top, great all-day comfort and is easily driven by a M1 Macbook Pro 3.5 mm port. ... show more

I’ve been using the beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X headphones as my daily driver for over a year. I’ve dropped the headphones dozens of times, and while the ear cups have popped off, they can be easily reinstalled. I often destroy the ends of my cables, and while the detachable cable means I’ll be safe if that happens, the cable is still like new after many drops and bumps. The headphones are relatively comfortable on my small head and I’m able to wear them for 8+ hours per day. Even though I live in a warm weather climate, they do not make my ears hot. These headphones are not very portable because they don’t fold. I’ve taken them on several trips without a case and they came out without a scratch. However, they took up quite a bit of room in my backpack or suitcase because they don’t fold. ... show more

My brother got me a pair of headphones and after a while he got a computer set up as well. I've noticed that his speakers can be a little loud sometimes (especially at night when my baby sister is sleeping) so I decided to repay the favor! I chose these because I looked at the reviews and because I like the fact that the cable is detachable for other things as well! Very useful! Loved the quality packaging and how the product arrived with extra cables. These headphones are solid In construction and very comfortable. I ended up sending them back because the lack of detail in certain frequencies made it hard to do the job I wanted them to help me with. I did however find them enjoyable to listen to.
