This net works great for catching bait such as shad to fish for catfish and striped bass. Many state regulates cast net diameter and/or mesh size. Research your local law to ensure that the cast net you are buying is within regulations. Pros: -lead weight allows for faster sinking. Many other nets uses non-lead weight which does not have the same density and therefore do not sink as quick. -1lb per radius foot rating is a good balance of quick sinking yet not too heavy to cast a few times. This rating means that the net has approximately 5lb of lead sinkers. -3/8" mesh size is good for catching shads -box is well made Cons: -box does not have a handle -price is quite a bit more expensive than non-lead cast nets ... show more

This is by far on of the best net I’ve use. quality is good, it sink fast, and it folds good. Got it stuck to a 20 pound rock and mange to pull the rock out with no damage to the net. Only complaint is the dang cheap box. The Need to redesign BOX or at least make it come with a carrying bag.

I have used these nets for years. For the money, you cannot find a better cast net. Durable, easy spread, and reliable cast after cast. These nets typically last about 4 years for me. DO NOT BUY!!!! I've had this net less than 2 weeks and it is already falling apart. I've had to tie the lead line back on in 3 places already. I've been throwing mullet nets for almost 50 years and I have never seen one that tangles up the way this one does. From one fisherman to another save your money cause this ain't what you want. This time its cheap for a reason. I only wish I could have given it a less than one star review! ... show more
