Description

Finding foods with lots of nutrients can be helpful for people who are trying to change their diet and live a better life. The word “chia” comes from the ancient Mayan word for strength. Why would the Mayans use such a powerful word for such a small seed? Well, chia seeds are loaded with nutrients such as fiber and omega-3 fatty acids. Our Organic Chia Seeds are nutrient powerhouses which is why they deserve to be associated with strength. They contain 37% of the daily recommended value of fiber to help the 97% of Americans who are fiber deficient. Because our chia seeds are flavor neutral and flavorless, you can add them to just about anything to get a boost without changing the taste of your food. Just mix our chia seeds with your favorite breakfast shake, smoothie, bread batter, or other food that could use a little extra crunch that your family will love! Use them as a pre- or post-workout boost with protein powders that you are already using. You can also sprinkle the seeds as a topping on yogurt, salads, or cereal for a satisfying snack! Our Organic Chia Seeds can also be used as an egg replacement when cooking or baking. Simply mix 1 tbs. of chia seeds with 3 tbs. of water, let sit for 5 minutes, and consume or bake immediately. You can then use this mixture as a vegan substitute in your favorite recipes. These Organic Chia Seeds are gluten-free, vegan, nut-free, raw, low-carb, non-GMO, and paleo-friendly, making them the perfect powerhouse for your pantry. BetterBody Foods is determined to bring you quality products that are better for your body but that don’t make you sacrifice the flavors that you enjoy. • Fresh, good-tasting chia seeds with a convenient container
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 2 Pound
I switched to this brand after trying another chia seed product that had a slightly funky smell when I opened it. This one has been much better for me. It smells fresh, tastes good, and the quality has been consistent. I also like the size of the container because I can portion the whole thing out ahead of time for the month. I use the chia seeds mostly in my protein shakes, but I also add them to different foods when I’m cooking. The price is reasonable for the amount you get, and the container is easy to store and use. Overall, I’m happy with the freshness, taste, quality, and value and would buy this brand again. ... show more

  • Good quality product, great price
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 20 Ounce (Pack of 1)
This product is exactly what I can get in a Whole Foods or the organic section of a good grocery store. But most of those products will cost you twice as much. This is much cheaper! I like that is a versatile food, but my favorite is in a pudding or smoothie. The organic label makes me believe it is healthier than non-organic. I started using chia seeds during menopause, because I read about how it is good to keep your omega-3 and protein intake high. I am happy with the taste, but I don't every love the texture, so I just try to make recipes that have a good flavor! The seeds are usually pretty soft by the time I eat them in a pudding or overnight oatmeal. They get ground up in a smoothie, but it makes it a little grainy, vs. super smooth. Up to you what you use it in, but it's got a lot of good nutrients, so just use it! ... show more

  • I'm a huge fan!!
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 2 Pound
I used to use organic raw Spanish peanuts in overnight oats to make complete protein (when combined with the oats), but they're hard to find, so I tried these wonderful chia seeds, and now I'm never going back to the Spanish peanuts!!! These have such a cool "flavor," or lack of it, somehow they taste neutral, but add richness, kind of like they have a vanilla essence --just super amazing and so perfect for the overnight oats!!! I love them and am amazed at how healthy they are, too!!! I plan on buying jars to grow microgreens in, and will try these out for that, too!!! Overall these are such a fantastic food item to have and I wish I started buying them a long time ago!!! Since they turned out to be so amazing in the overnight oats, I will try them for chia puddings, too. I remember we laughed at the "Chia Pets" in the 1970's, when all along the chia seeds were such undiscovered gems to have in your kitchen!! Glad I finally ordered these and I highly recommend them!! ... show more

  • Great Quality and So Easy to Use
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 20 Ounce (Pack of 1)
These chia seeds are a great addition to my kitchen. I’ve been adding them to overnight oats, smoothies, and yogurt, and they’re an easy way to add extra fiber and nutrition without changing the flavor much. The seeds have a good texture and the bag is a generous size, so it lasts a while. I also like that there are so many ways to use them, from breakfast recipes to baking. Great staple to have on hand! ... show more

  • High in Fiber & omega 3's. Price doubled though
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 2 Pound
Works great and I use chia seeds all the time. I no longer use this brand, since the price has almost doubled. I paid $11 & change. Now they want $20+. I saw people mentioning lead. They always put prop 65 warnings on everything. They put is on door handles. I guess people lick them. Idk, but I disregard those warnings now. They put them on everything. Do chia seeds contain lead, yes. "Yes, chia seeds can contain lead and other heavy metals, as these are naturally present in soil, but levels vary by brand and growing conditions, with some products being contaminated due to high lead levels in the soil where they were grown. While some studies show lead levels are generally below regulatory limits, independent testing " These are great if you have constipation. I have had it from meds. I took magnesium citrate liquid and barely helped. I added these chia seeds(two tablespoons) with meals. I went the next day. I now use another brand, but chia seeds health benefits far outweigh the risks. It contains antioxidants, high fiber and Omega 3's, which aren't the same as the kind found in fish, but still healthy nonetheless. If the price went down. I would recommend it. It is easy to seal. I go through about 2lbs of chia seeds every 3 months . The fiber helps with heart health and cholesterol. Do your own research and don't allow a few bad reviews stop you from trying chia seeds. They are high in calories. So remember that when you make them part of your daily routine. Lastly, drink plenty of water when you take them. DO NOT take a spoonful and swallow. Chia seeds can soak up a large amount of water and can cause a blockage in your throat, if swallowing by themselves. "chia seeds can absorb a significant amount of liquid, often cited as up to 10 to 12 times their weight in water, creating a gel, with some sources even mentioning up to 27 times their weight, which is great for hydration, fullness, and slowing digestion, but requires soaking or adequate liquid to avoid potential blockages, notes CNET and WBUR. This property makes them excellent for weight management and sustained energy, but always consume them with liquid or soaked to prevent issues like constipation or esophageal impaction, say Cleveland Clinic Health Essentials" I have been using these for almost 6 months with no problems. I add them to spaghetti and almost everything I eat. They add a crunch and are healthy and add texture to your food. Start slow with maybe a teaspoon or tablespoon. I have had no blockages & will continue using them. Hope this helps. I would give 5 stars, but price knocked it down a star. ... show more

  • Good Quality
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 20 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Wanted to add a little something around the edges to my healthier diet. If I'm not sure about an item, I trust a lot of the reviews. And this one didn't fall short. Just what I was looking for. And you can't go wrong with organic in my opinion. Nice that I can add omega-3's without ruining the flavor of what I add them to. I currently just add them to yogurt but there are many things I will add them to in the future. ... show more

  • Very tasty!
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 2 Pound
I’ve gone through a lot of different chia seed brands over the years, and BetterBody Foods Organic Chia Seeds have become my go-to. Right out of the bag, the first thing I noticed was how clean and consistent the seeds look—no dust, no weird debris, and the texture is exactly what I expect from high-quality chia. For anyone who uses chia regularly, that consistency really matters. The gel quality is excellent. When I mix these into water, smoothies, or overnight oats, they plump up quickly and evenly. Some cheaper brands don’t hydrate well and leave hard bits behind, but not these. If you love making chia pudding, these are perfect—they create that smooth, thick texture without clumping. Flavor-wise, they have that neutral, slightly nutty taste chia lovers look for. No bitterness, no stale smell—just fresh seeds that blend into pretty much anything. I also love how versatile they are. I’ve added them to yogurt bowls, baked goods, homemade granola, salads, and protein shakes, and they work every time. Nutritionally, these check all the boxes chia fans care about: omega-3s, fiber, and plant protein. I’ve noticed they really help keep me full longer, especially when I add them to breakfast. If you’re trying to boost your daily fiber or make meals a bit more satisfying without adding a lot of calories, these are an easy win. Another big plus is the packaging. The resealable bag is sturdy, keeps the seeds fresh, and stands up nicely in the pantry. It pours cleanly too, which sounds small but makes daily use easier. Overall, BetterBody Foods really delivers here. These chia seeds are fresh, reliable, and super versatile—great quality at a good price. If you’re a regular chia user or just trying them out for the first time, I’d definitely recommend this brand. ... show more

  • Good quality, fast to absorb water
Flavor Name: Chia Size: 2 Pound
I was looking for some good quality chia seeds that weren't too expensive and was a little nervous after reading some reviews about twigs or rocks in them or something, but I have used about half the jar so far and I think they're great and I haven't noticed any issues with contaminants. Plus, they soak up water super fast so I don't have to soak them overnight. I add my berries, add a little bit of water, add the chia seeds and stir them in and wait about 5 minutes and then they are perfect after stirring again. I add yogurt and honey and it has been my favorite breakfast lately! Highly recommend these chia seeds. ... show more
