Firmware Compatibility Notes To ensure seamless compatibility with third-party ArtLynk protocol equipment, please verify that your BETAFPV devices are updated to firmware version V2.0.5 or later. The air unit needs to be updated via the ground station. First, make sure the ground station and air unit are on the same firmware version, then proceed to update the air unit. And firmware V2.0.5 is not compatible with any V1 versions (V1.0.36 / V1.0.44).     • Amazingly durable. Crashed 50 times so far. No damage besides the props
This is my first drone and I am thoroughly impressed with everything. I don't have a computer and have been reluctant to download a simulator on my work laptop so I've been flying it freehand learning as I wreck lol. I've probably wrecked this thing 50 times in my home and the only thing I've had to touch is the props and put a little shoe goo on the antenna mount. I'm now about 6 hours in a real flight time and I'm exponentially better. The point is this is a very fun little drone and the video quality is amazing. I don't have any legs or stutters and no latency issues that I noticed. I took it outside for the first time and it performed perfectly. I even ran it sideways into a cube of brick and then it's graped it upside down along the pavement 20 ft before I was able to hit the kill switch. Flipped it over and kept flying. Simply amazing. And all of the parts minus the flight control unit are extremely affordable and easy to replace. You can get upgraded motors for $16 a piece on Amazon and they plug and play. I paired this with the radio master boxer controller and beta FPV V04 goggles and I could not be more pleased. This has been such a positive experience that I'm already looking at getting a pavo 20 frame and the DJI 04 air unit to play around with. I live in flight controlled airspace so I can't get a real drone to fly around my property and this has scratched that itch. I'm not even good and it's already so much fun. If you pair this with the lava II batteries it's a blast! About four of the 580 mAh batteries and four of the 680. The drone flies much better with the 580 batteries but you can have a more relaxed experience with the extra time the 680s give you. I'm still playing around with props but so far the stock props have been my favorite. I have the gem fam 45 mm Right now and they seem a little flimsy and not quite as responsive but they are durable. I have some other props coming that are supposed to reduce backwash and I'm hopeful they'll increase performance. I've also been practicing with the two blade version of the gemfam props and they have much less power but they do extend your flight time about 20% so if you just want to practice cruising around they are a good option. I really love this drone and now that I have a case that carries everything I can bring it wherever I want and fly for a few minutes. I can sit down in a park for 10 minutes at lunch and fly the drone a little bit and then pack it back up in the case and go about my day it's been such a stress reliever and a fun little addition to my day ... show more

Very much fun. Quiet quiet quiet!!! The Betafpv Aquila 20 HD is a BANSHEE in comparison. HD is the way to go. Analog has its place but once you fly in HD, it's like going from your old 4:3 TV back in the day to today's modern flat screen TV. This drone flies brilliantly. Quiet and durable. There is a reason why it's in the top three of mini 'whoop' drones. With a 680mh battery you'll get nearly seven minutes of flight time. Worth it. ... show more

This quad seems to be well built and as well full of features for the price... It does take some work to configure and get going so don't buy it thinking it will work out of the box. Also you need to make sure you own or buy compatible video and radio hardware because that is a limited list (not bad fairly normal for this field) and will disappoint if you don't. As I said if you haven't configured a quad before spend some time learning Betaflight and as well your transmitter (as well RadioMaster is good) so there are no issues. ... show more
