  • Best budget LPVO I've found yet
This scope isn't what you might expect. Yes, it's an inexpensively made chinese optic, but, it has features you have to buy must more expensive optics, usually, to get. Very clear glass. The 1x isn't really 1x, more like 1.25ish, but close enough. Excellent eye relief (way better than I expected) even when fully zoomed. I'm getting 3-5" depending on the magnification. Comes with two sets of mounts (Dovetail and Picatinny). Doubling bar making turning the magnification up/down much easier. It also comes with a leveling ring that you'd normally have to pay $20 or $30 for with most other optics (and thats the cheap ones). It's not heavy. I'd say it's 2/3rds the weight of other budget LPVO's I've purchased. 1/2 the weight of some of them (looking at you Monstrum). The illumination is bright (too bright, rings the outside of the optic view if you get too close, but easy to keep clear if you use the generous eye relief by backing off), but this is common for pretty much all budget optics. I have not taken it to the range yet, but I will soon. I'll try it on a few guns, PCCs mostly, maybe a 553 chambered rifle, but we'll see how it runs on PCC's first. If it stands up to a few hundred rounds without losing zero, I'd say this one's a winner. For the price, it's the best low cost LPVO out there. ... show more

  • Great value
I'm old, mean, and a retired shooter. Having served I dislike the star rating due to the need for most to fish out a better score than honesty will allow. So here is the straight.. Its a good overall piece of glass. I've. used it on .22 thru .308 and unlike some branded scopes it has held its reticle. Easy to use and the 1x thru 5x allow the use of magnified as well as a red dot like shooting. Snap shots at close range are easy. the 5x gives you the ability to glass an area without multiple optics. I live in a dense forested area, and it better meets the needs of my shooting than some more expensive scopes, Its quality is acceptable and I haven't flooded it ... yet. Overall: it is a good value. ... show more

  • I made a BIG mistake! You need to PULL UP! Please Read!
Let me just preface this to say, I wrote a LONG review, I was under the impression that this scope was imperfect, but, it is not, not at all. I mentioned that the TURRETS were immovable, even mentioning that you would need pliers to move them, well, THAT IS NOT TRUE at all. I have changed my previous 3 STAR Review to a 4 STAR Review. Well, it turns out that there is nothing at all wrong with the turrets, they are just made differently than any of the other ones that I have seen. You don't 'just turn' them, you have to PULL UP on them and THEN turn them. They work and turn very easily and there is an audible click... Not just that, but, I actually LOVE these turrets! No tools needed and it's actually innovative. I read three reviews here that mentioned that you cannot move the turrets, that you need pliers. That implanted a thought in my head that when I tried to move them, they didn't move, so, they must have been right. I WAS WRONG, and I admit to not even reading the directions too. They were too small for me to read though. I have REMOVED all of the negatives that I said that pertained to the turrets. My apologies to the seller and the maker, I was wrong, and I learned a lesson. Now, my new task in life is to learn how to eat crow and like it... :) _______________________________________________________________________________________________ The Not-so-good... The scope says it is a 1-5x24, it's not, it's like most here that have mentioned it wasn't actually that, but more like a 1-1/2, or even possibly a 2. This may be different from scope to scope, maybe better, maybe worse. If a person had to use this as a CQB style scope in a situation, that would be hard to do, maybe not impossible, but you don't want odds like that in any situation. I am just a regular guy, I don't do, "CQB" anyway, but it is a fact of life it can happen. This will not be my main 'tool', as they say, to use, but sometimes you just cannot see the future, you never know. The focus adjustment on mine is not bad at all, it is VERY firm, but not impossible as some may have mentioned. It's not a plus or a minus. The GOOD... Installing the scope onto my picatinny rail was easy enough, I read that time and time again people strip the bolts on this type, and they ARE very soft metal, but I have been lucky and I tried my best not to go too far with the tightening of the bolts. It is light enough, but feels weighty enough to where it doesn't feel cheap. It appears to be made well, and is not unsightly at all, I've seen better looking scopes, but it's still pretty nice looking. It's nice that the level was included, that is a first for me, it seems to be of pretty good quality and will probably do its intended job well. As has already been mentioned, the green and red lighting inside of the scope bleeds onto the surrounding area of the inner scope, that is REALLY common in the lesser expensive scopes I have seen. For me, it's not a deal breaker. Personally, I don't care for the lights, but if I needed them I think they would work out. The clarity of the scope is pretty good, it seems to be good glass, at least that worked out, or, I hope. As far as using it, I have not, not yet. (I just received it today) I can't attest to anything about how it works in that regard. I don't really shoot anything out of the 25 yard to 100 yard range, so I am thinking this will work out O.K. for that. I have it mounted on a Ruger PC Charger, 'with a brace', so I didn't buy the pistol or the scope for long range shooting. Would I recommend this to anyone? Yes... If I told them what I found, and if they wanted it, I wouldn't talk them out of it. Am I going to keep it? Yes. Would I buy again? Maybe, not that I'd need it, but I guess it is a pretty good scope. ... show more

  • Worth the price
Bought a cheap mess around .22 and slapped this on as more of a joke than anything. I am so surprised by how usable this thing actually is. Image is clear, variable magnification is smooth and feels like it should. Reticle is mildly cheesy and the LED lighting looks cheap but is actually beneficial in low light. If you're looking at this just get it, it's a good time. ... show more

  • Great budget lvpo
Amazing lvpo beyond any other, bright and strong bond to 20mm pic rails

  • Top contender among my under $60 scopes, best cheapo 30mm LPVO so far.
User level: Expert Objective: Finding cheap 30mm scopes. Grade: First scope, extra gun scope, pellet rifles, airsoft. I bought a dozen scopes between $30 and $70 to test, see how good cheap can be. 30mm is harder to get, but I prefer it for the improved light transmission. A few were junk, or hard to use. A scope should improve the function of your eye, not make it harder to see. If your scope has a large degree of barrel distortion at any magnification, send it back. Can't turn the knobs? Lighted reticle reveals fingerprint on lens? Use the return policy. For the price, this 30mm 1-5 (mine is 1-6, nice) has no major disqualifying defects. The only negative is the reticle not being my favorite. Distortion is low at either end of mag. Eye box is OK. Size is average, fits M4 or 10-22 nicely. Included rings OK, nice value if you don't have extra 30mm mounts laying about. If you're trying to lose drag, Nikon has some nice "vertical split rings" for between $5-10. Bottom Line. I'd buy this again before a CenterPoint, or Monstrum. ... show more
