I purchased this duvet cover in September 2022; so roughly 6 months ago. When I first got it, it was INCREDIBLY rough/scratchy. Since this was the first linen bed set I've ever purchased, I decided to continue using it and washing it regularly, believing it would eventually soften over time. I have washed it weekly on the delicate setting in cold water, then tumble dried it on the lowest temperature in my dryer using 3-4 wool dryer balls. I do not have pets, so I can't speak to durability against paws/claws. However, I CAN say that after using it regularly for 6 months, I have had zero issues with rips, tears, loose threads, or dye bleeding. Also, it HAS softened up quite considerably. However, I recently purchased a stonewashed linen duvet cover from The Citizenry (*cough* $246 *cough*). Right out of the box it is SIGNIFICANTLY softer than this one. It it also heavier and feels just overall nicer. The only aesthetic complaint I have is the zipper. I purchased the olive green colored cover and the zipper (including the fabric material for the zipper) is bright white. If I could make one recommendation, it would be to have BESTOUCH match (or even closely match) zipper colors with the dye used on the cover itself. Overall, if you are looking to transition to a linen bed set, on bit of a tighter budget, and don't plan on abusing the heck out of it, this is a solid option. I love the feel of a cotton / linen and it’s light, not sticky like some duvets can be and otherwise claim to be .. pay attention to the blends Bought and returned about 6 others before finally achieving what seemed impossible, A lightweight duvet that is not a silky soft touch but a crisper cotton soft that hasnt trapped too much heat or made too hot (hot sleeper here). The texture, softness and comfort are great so far. So is the light weight material. The biggest improvement this company can make is adding additional ties. There are only four corner ties. I’ve purchased many (many) duvet covers and I’ve never had one with just four corner ties. This needs the standard seven or eight ties to keep the comforter in place ... show more

This duvet cover and the two shams that come with it are GORGEOUS they have the soft jersey t shirt material which MAY be troublesome for those who run hot. I run cold at night so I didn’t notice but my husband did (he runs hot). I saw a few reviews that were upset that the duvet wasn’t as fluffy as the picture. That’s because this is not a comforter. It’s a duvet COVER. you have to buy and insert to put inside which I already knew but others may not so I figured I mention that. I wash these twice now and it held up great.
