  • Fantastic value
I purchased this greenhouse over the $200 Barilla one. This one is actually slightly larger and so far seems pretty sturdy. I have my full size humidifier in there currently because I don't have a small one but look how it fits! This thing is huge. I added $30 lights (4 dimmable strips) and boom, I'm ready for winter. I appreciate the review explaining the two different ways of opening and it's a great feature! My one and only complaint currently is the smell. It smells like any outdoor blowup pool or pool ring. I've had it up 4 days now and it's still pretty strong. And I wiped it down when I first set it up. But that's unavoidable as it's a big sheet of plastic! From opening the box to putting this thing together and wiping it down took me 30 minutes without help. Didn't need a hammer, just a firm grip. If you can manage to get everything in firmly, it's quite stable. Doesn't rock. I kept the box it came in to use underneath and it still doesn't wobble. I'm so impressed. Obviously. ... show more

  • Works Great for Starting Vegetables inside.
I used this to start Vegetables inside and mounted 4-foot lights on each level. I was worried it would not be sturdy enough, but it held up nice. Wouldn't plan on moving it around with plants on it or having it outside. Not sure it would withstand that. But for what I wanted it for, it worked great.

  • Seedling's Delight
As my first greenhouse I realized I had some things to learn. This thing is so handy for hardening off newbie seedlings and once I could leave them in place I nearly destroyed all of them by leaving them closed up during a couple of really warm spring days. Like close to 90 deg. This is So Cal. Anyway I threw some shade cloth over the top and opened up to let the heat out. That helped somewhat. If I had realized sooner the heat was doing damage, I wouldn't have lost the tender young plants. Be forewarned. Oh well, lesson learned. Originally, I was really having a time of it deciding whether to buy this one because it had wider shelves and could hold more 1020 trays or the much smaller one that came with casters. After loading up most of the (4)shelves its fairly heavy and moving it without casters isn't possible so that's the reason for giving four stars. It was quite easy to assemble even though the instructions were quite vague. ... show more

  • I like it but there are big issues
I can see the 5 star & the 1 star ratings as being valid. I see many had great results & some not. I can see reasons for both. Assembly was easy. Just put narrow ends on floor, put in pipe Then put other ends on top. Then stand up and put on top. The plastic covering was OK - I liked it. For me all went well at first. Then when I started putting in the seed trays with peat I noticed a lean. I removed all items and checked. The pipes were loose so I re installed them. After that I put in seed trays and added water. I noticed a lean again. That really concerned me. I removed everything again and checked the bar into the end condition. I noticed bar slippage again. Here is what I did. I used a medium wire. I put the wire on the front & back posts lower ends- then the front. This was to prevent sliding out and to maintain firmness. Then I tightened the wire to make a snug fit. The wire did eliminate the slide out situation. Once in place do not move it - I mean even empty. Then I noticed it still leaned. I took more wire and made an "X" brace on the back. Top left to bottom right. Then the same for the other side in back. It worked on the back lean. I may also brace the narrow sides. One could also "U" bracket the back bars to a thin plywood. That would do it. The front is a concern. The seller states " Each shelf holds up to 20 pounds" Then " and uses two removable panels to accommodate larger potted plants. I would not try 20 pounds per shelf and anything large or heavy unless on a lower to bottom shelf. The plastic ends seemed to be too light and similar to the 24' unit I had last year. Suggest manufacturer make sturdier & wider end plastic frame pieces. Then maybe have the pipe entry points a little longer to hold the pipes better. This is the main issue. The plastic ends are too narrow to properly hold the that length of pipes securely. The units bars seem the same gauge as a smaller 24" one I bought last year. These are longer and thus maybe should be a little stronger because of length. The wire shelf seem to do the job. The plastic clips were unique. It is a nice unit and to those with issues or concerns give thought to what I did if you have issues. The issue probably will be stress issues on the long side. Last thing I cut the box to use over the shelves. It is to insulate for heating pads & disperse the weight stress a little. Last item. I notice some have wind issues. Outside the wide end is like a sail. Best to secure unit on the long side by a fence type thing that can secure both ends. I figured I got a lemon of sorts. Forgive me on presentation details etc. but I'm busy, but this lean thing worried me a lot for others with kids. In time there could be issues. I just do not know your circumstance but mine concerned me. Thanks, Ed ... show more

  • Useful product
Easy to assemble. Very useful for keeping delicate plants outside during spring and later in fall.

  • One problem, easy solution.
This unit assembles pretty easily and doesn't take a lot of time until you start putting the shelves and clips on. The shelf edges are not bent around the metal as much as they should be. Be sure to have a pair of pliers handy to bend them just a little more all the way across. If you don't do this and put the clips on, they will go flying off to who knows where. We are still missing one clip that flew off. We haven't opened the cover yet, so we don't know how well that fits. The tubing is not as heavy as I would have liked and all the pieces are connected with plastic/poly parts. I wish it was all the powder coated steel tubing. That explains the stars given on the sturdiness and stability ratings. ... show more

  • The cat-proof plant sanctuary I needed
We have a year-old domestic shorthair cat who absolutely cannot leave our houseplants alone. Thankfully, they're all pet-safe, but I put a lot of effort into caring for them and I don't want him to completely destroy my plants. This enclosed shelf was the perfect solution. The cat hasn't yet figured out how to breach the vinyl, and we've had it for several months. I did catch him hanging onto one of the ties at the top, so had to cut those off to prevent him from pulling the whole thing over. I'm only giving it 3 stars for durability and stability, because although it's very easy to put together and take apart, any jostling is likely to cause the horizontal bars to come free of the plastic parts and send anything on those shelves tumbling to the ground. I'm currently looking into adhesive solutions to make the unit more stable, although of course that will come at the cost of easily taking it apart to move it. ... show more
