Ended up using this car camping when I didn’t feel like buying a midway $200 tent that I’d replace with something more expensive later. Weight? Obviously not a lightweight or close to an UL tent. The weight listed is accurate. Set up took about 5-10 minutes the first time. I purchased the footprint for tent and would suggest getting one as well due to the bottom being thin. The temperatures varied from 40F to about 65-70F and had no issues with condensation. Ventilation worked well and it has two extra vents that can be opened and closed via Velcro (while not the best, they work). You can easily take the rain fly off if you need more ventilation in the case of hot weather. My favorite part? It performed perfect during a storm. Zero water made it inside the tent. It was windy and with the guy-lines there was little to no noise. While there was some movement it wasn’t enough to detract from sleep. Inside is enough for two people snugly with a little gear. For one person it fit me and everything I brought with room to spare. Each corner has a small mesh storage pocket. There is a hook to hang a light off of in the middle. It also includes a mesh basket that can be attached in place of the hook for additional storage. Long story short: Water proof. Easy to setup. Car camping. Get the footprint. First I just want to start with saying the value of what you get is amazing for the price. Tent is 4.5 lbs. By myself I can set it up in about five minutes. Pros: super lightweight, has two doors, storage on all corners, a good bathtub, hanging hooks up top, great ventilation, tent poles are super lightweight and snap in easy, the attachment points are reenforced, the rain fly sits roughly three inches off the tent allowing for food ventilation, rain fly has several guy lines (I only used the corners and the vestibule ones), zippers are stitched well and slide with ease, easy pop up ventilation on either side that can Velcro down during rain. Cons: comes with 12 steel steaks @28 grams each (ditched them and put in 6 of the aluminum ones from Walmart @16 grams each), THATS IT!!! I have used this tent twice, one over night and a three night through trip. I had it set up and taken down before anyone else and the two guys I was with wanted this link so they can buy one. The tent steaks were the only negative that I have found yet. The zippers get caught in the material from time to time but I found that only happened when I was being quick but if I just calmly unzipped them like a normal person and not some ape, there were no issues. I was looking for good med price backpack tent. I am 6ft 2inches tall and it is hard to find one I can fit into. This Bessport 2 man tent seemed to fit the bill. It was not as big as what they said I did fit with about inch each end. I was able to get my pack in easy as well. I would not put 2 people in it unless they where real small but for one it was enough and fit my gear in also. I had just enough room to dress. It fit on my backpack well. it set up fairly easy. I would set it up before use. The directions if you call them that where useless. I bought the foot print with it and it worked well. I did find the tent hard to roll up and fit back into the carry bag. I do not think the bag will last as long. I was missing ties for the top with it but I had string that worked. I bought a couple extra stakes that fit in the stake bag. I am not sure how strong it will be in heavy wind but calm and light breeze it did well. It does have some tie downs so it will help keep it in place. It was hard to get poles in the eyelet hole on the tent and foot print but it did stay once in place. I did not use it in the rain. I would seam seal or spray the fly anyway. I found a few stiches that where loose on the fly right out of the box. If I spray or seal it I think It will be good. I used it on a 3 day hike on the 25 mile Indiana adventure trail. I liked the fact the fly rolls up. I used it in summer it felt good getting breeze in at night to sleep. I could have left the fly off but with all the rain we have got this year I felt better having the fly on it is easier to close it than put it on in the rain in the dark. I also like the side vents. I liked the corner pocket and the hanging storage sling. I still need to use in harsh weather to make up my mind. For a beginner tent or weekends I think it will work well. once you get it folded up to fit the bag I was able to get the foot print in there fairly easy so it was all in one bag. the floor seemed ok I was in some rough vegetation I do recommend a foot print and a trap or both. For longer hikes or harsh conditions I am not sure how it will hold up. It was close to 6 pounds with the foot print a bit heavy but I did not want a small tent I could not fit into. ... show more
