Large handle provides positive pressure while the "clutch" Action grips the bar automatically. Cast jaws and handle offer durability and a smooth action spindle. These pipe clamps are certainly economic and versatile, as you can mount them on any length of pipe. The problem with that is, the sliding end doesn't always stick well to the pipe. And you can't really turn the pipe in the static end's threads to find a different spot for the sliding end to stick, because the threads are conical, and it just pops out. Another annoying issue is that the plastic jaw pads are slippery and really like to slide off the clamps. Which means you just have to take them off to actually clamp something, and either damage the workpiece because the metal jaws don't have the best finish (you could grind them...) or use shims to avoid that. In my opinion, these should only be used if you need to work on something reeeeally long. Otherwise, use bar clamps. ... show more

I used these to clamp two walnut slabs together for a live edge dining room table. I found them easy to use. The H style ends were very useful for lifting the clamps off the wood surfaces as I tightened the pieces together very tightly.

Good quality, heavy-duty, and likely to work dependably for years. Adjustments for fitting the clamp to the size of the object being clamped take some strength but are manageable for the average woodworker. Well worth the price.
