This set contains nearly everything you would want to have on hand for camp cooking besides actual food, spices, and pots and pans. The plastic plates and glasses aren’t quite up to IKEA quality, but will be fine. The cutlery and utensils are good size and heavy enough that you won’t be afraid that they will bend. The case is adequate. They material will be fine, I’m sure, but isn’t the type of material you see on items meant to be used outdoors. The flaw lies in the fact that you can’t hang it up on the nice loop is has for that purpose without everything on the other side falling out. I didn’t pay enough attention to the pictures to see that before ordering (you can see it in the first picture if you look closely), and was surprised by it the first time I opened it.     • Great Starter Set
This set comes with a lot of excellent hardware to start out a camp kitchen. I am particularly impressed with the silverware sets--although I only received 3 instead of 4. They are really solidly made, unlike some sets where the silverware is little better than plasticware from a fast-food joint. I'm really impressed that so much of this set is metal instead of plastic, especially the spatula and serving spoons. It is also nice that they included tongs, scissors and a peeler--all of which are really useful for a camp kitchen. Special mention to the knife which is plenty sharp but, importantly, comes with a blade cover to keep it and you safe. We do lots of camping... In the past we have gotten many of these items individually. Even then storing them together was problematic and can get expensive. This set has all the items we use (save it be a can opener which we added) at a good quality level. It is so easy to forget various utensils when camping and having all items store in one place is one less worry!! 4.5 of 5 stars ... show more

this is a great kit, especially for people that just started camping or even tent camping, everything you need for cooking all in one bag, super easy and simple, everything stores nicely. dosent take up alot of space when storing away.

    • Good for the price, but a couple improvements would have made it amazing
We went camping late this summer and I wish I'd had this camping set then. We had more than four at our campsite, but this would have been a great start with the included utensils. For the most part, everything is well packed and secure in the included bag. The big exception for me are the salt/pepper shakers, which are initial packed in light bubble wrap at the top of the bag. After being filled, there isn't a pocket or anything else to hold them in place. A velcro strap would have been appreciated, but they fit well enough inside the pouch, though they still mvoe around a bit and make noise when they hit the metal utensils. The utility scissors include a built in bottle opener, which is strange because there's a proper bottle opener included. The metal is thick enough that I'm not worried about it being a strength issue though, which is nice. They have one serrated edge, which helps grip food while cutting. I'm pleasantly surprised by the scissors and feel like they'll last a decent amount of time. The chef's knife is cheap, but servicable. The blade is a bit loose in the handle, so I expect I'll be either using epoxy to hold it in place, or just replacing it with a $5 knife from a thrift store. It had a decent edge on arrival. I would have identified the "paring knife" as a vegetable peeler. Both have their uses, but I consider the paring knife to be far more versatile. The cutting board is a wonderful inclusion. Though it's small, it's one of the things easiest to forget and it makes prep much simpler. The carrying bag has no visible branding, which is a bit unusual but I like. There are a few loose threads, especially at the bottom of the bag. The zippers are unbranded and feel a bit cheap, but I'm OK as long as at least one of them works! At time of order, this was $31.59 after 21% coupon and I'm happy with what I got for the price. There are a few weak links, but it's much easier to replace one or two items than to try to assemble a whole kit like this. ... show more
