    • Great cost effective back up lights
Vehicle is a 2012 F150. I replaced the white night back up lights with these. They are not super bright in one area like the white nights were but where they lack in spot light they more than make up for in flood lighting. A very good flood pattern that lights up quite well for backing up. Overall I like these better than the white night system. As they are a cheaper set of led flood lights I did take them apart and silicone the gasket areas and face plate to help stop water penetration. The brackets included with these are metal and they bolted right up to my trucks bumper. They were solid as there are 4 bolts per light on the bracket to keep them adjusted.     • Even better than I expected!
I just received a set of these, which I bought to augment the reverse lights on my old Chevy plow truck. First let me say that this product literally reeks of quality. From the elegant cast housings, with built in massive heat sinks, to the contrasting allen head hardware holding them together, out of the box they are simply impressive. Something the listing does not mention is that all the mounting hardware is stainless steel. Very nice. So now some details. These come with no instructions, not that it is rocket science to install them, but it would be nice to have a list of tools needed. The main mounting bolt/nut is14mm, the side bolts are 10mm, and the left/right adjustment is tightened with a 6mm allen. You should insert the main bolt before attaching the angle-adjusting bracket to the housing, otherwise it is tricky to get it in. It would have been nice to include a crimp-on connector for the ground that fits the mounting bolt, since I suspect many will use the mount for the ground, and it is a big bolt (8 mm) and ring terminals in that size are hard to find (so I made one). As far as how well they work? They are excellent! They are almost like having a set of headlights on the back of the truck. If you need some utility lights of any kind for any sort of 12 volt vehicle, buy these, you won't regret it. ... show more

    • Nice but not 18 Watt
Just installed the lights so I can’t say anything about their longevity. There 14.85 Watts as measured on a 13.5 VDC system, not 18 Watt. Total current draw is about 1.1 Amps apiece so their good on off-road or agricultural equipment that don’t have large alternators. Nice even bright light, mostly white with a slight bluish tint but it’s hard to tell. Seem to have a wider dispersal pattern than 60° which is fine for use on the tractor. They’re mounted about 6 feet off the ground and 4 feet in front of them is lit really well. I’ve got them both angled out about 15° and they probably light up over 140° of my field of view teen feet ahead of the tractor. Total light throw is maybe 100 feet but it starts falling off rapidly after 30-40 feet or so. If you’re mounting these on a vehicle I think the spot beam would be better. Their almost too bright to use when your close to something. I got these for working after dark and I think they’ll do nicely. ... show more

So far so good. Have these mounted on the front bumper of my Jeep Wrangler for a few months now. They have held up very well through all the elements mother nature can throw at it. I've driven through water that buried the lights and had no issues. The finish is holding up very well on the lights as well. I'm getting ready to install a roof rack on my vehicle. Once I have that on, I'll be buying more of these to mount on the front and rear of the rack. For the money, they are very nice and are holding up very well. ... show more

I have 2 pairs of (4 light) on my 2002 Chevrolet silverado for driving lights and camping scene flood lighting. The light is amazing! ! When I receive their packing is to take care of and a lamp has never been damaged during the transit. Before installation, I try every light and they all work to achieve the perfect position. I put some silicon lens to fill in any additional cracks only to prevent rain and dust. These small some serious light. I strongly recommend these people are looking for alternative lighting. See update at end. I use these as back-up lights on my F-150 pick-up. I originally purchased KC HiLiTES 517 2x6 55w Back Up/Flood Light System for back-up lamps and was seriously disappointed (see my separate review on that product). I replaced those lights with the SHANREN DSquare Flood lights yesterday. Here is my review. Pros: ==== - Excellent value for the money ($26 on Amazon) - Mostly sturdy quality - Well designed mounting bracket allows you to orient the lights in virtually any direction - Wide dispersion - good flood light - Bright, white light - Easy to install Cons: ==== - Power cable too close to bracket - makes for slightly awkward installation, but does not interfere with the product once installed - Minor play between the mounting bracket receiver and the light housing Review ====== This assembly is a pair of lights are a small form factor housing six (6) LED elements each. It comes with mounting hardware, but it does not include a switch, which is exactly what I needed. I already have a control unit with four switches inside an four relays outside, and I dedicate one switch/relay to the auxiliary back-up lights. Installation is relatively easy, but could be made easier by a more sensible placement of the power cord. For someone with thick fingers like me, it takes a little longer to thread one of the four mounting bolts into the pre-threaded hole. The units appear rugged and sturdy. I especially like the mounting bracket that allows you to aim the lights in virtually any direction. The four bolts that hold the light body to the mounting bracket let you lock the aim in place without any fear of it coming out of alignment later. While I don't think it will be a factor for me, I thought maybe the metal mounting bracket could be one gauge thicker, but I have to confess I am really quibbling here. It is suitable for my purpose - backing up, which is always at slow speed. If I had mounted these forward, I would expect a heavier gauge bracket to hold the lights in position more securely, preventing bouncing of the light beam. But I repeat, I am only speculating - I don't know if it is a problem. Installation was very simple. It took me 30 minutes to install both lights and connect them to my existing wiring harness. There are no instructions, and frankly, none are needed. A label on the power cable tells you which lead is +12V and which one is ground. That's all you need. The mounting bracket installation is intuitively obvious. I did notice that, once installed, there is a minor amount of play between the the bracket receiver and the light housing unit, allowing a little jiggle. As long as it does not worry itself into a serious detachment, this is not a problem for me, but again, if I were using these lights in a forward looking orientation, I might be concerned about the bouncing of the light beam at higher speeds. I tested these at night in total darkness. When I back up with these lights on, they throw wide lobes of light off to the sides, so you can easily see what you are turning into even with the steering wheel cranked all the way over. They throw light far enough back for any reasonable back-up speed. The light they cast is bright, and very white - the product doesn't specify, but I would guess they are between 6,000 and 7,000 Kelvin in color. Standing behind the truck with these lights on looks like headlights coming toward me. All in all, this is an excellent product. I bought another pair as back-up lamps for my trailer, which I will install soon. UPDATE: 21 Sep 2015 ================== - One of these units failed within four months after I installed them. I had two unused lights (which I was planning to install on my trailer), so I used one of those to replace the failed unit. ... show more
