  • a great lunch box
Color: Stainless Steel
A simple and useful lunch box. It stores food well and is airtight. I especially like that it's not plastic and I can warm food in an air fryer. It's durable and will last a very long time. I already got a second one.

  • A nice lunchbox
Color: Stainless Steel
The lunchbox holds up well. It's durable, and the lid makes a reliable seal. It is a little difficult to remove the lid. With the release valve open, I still have to press it against my body to pry it open, but that's the trade-off of having an excellent seal. The paint does flake off over time with everyday use. Putting in the dishwasher would probably ruin the paint faster, so I always hand-wash it. I don't mind the paint too much; fortunately, it's only painted on the outside, and unpainted on the inside. The divider is a nice touch; it keeps dry items separated. Liquids can still mix between compartments, but it's not a big deal for me. It's a good quality, stainless steel, airtight lunchbox. ... show more

  • Unusable after two months
Color: Stainless Steel
These containers are wonderful...until they're not. While they function exactly as advertised, the outer coating of the steel (which I guess is plastic?) peels off after a handful of washes. I bought the stainless colored ones hoping to avoid this problem, but alas, even the stainless ones have some sort of plastuc film on the outside. Two month in, they are unusable. Save your money and do not buy! ... show more

  • Stylish Lunch Box, Best for Single Dishes
Color: Rose Gold
Verdict: Stylish, non-plastic, and microwave/oven-safe—great ideas on paper—but in daily use the single removable divider felt limiting, and the rose-gold finish started to come off in washing. We ultimately prefer Bentgo’s multi-container setups for flexibility. What we liked Not plastic: The MicroSteel build is a win for anyone trying to cut down on plastic. It feels sturdy and doesn’t hold odors. Microwave & oven safe (minus lid): Being able to reheat right in the container is genuinely useful for office or school lunches. Leak-resistant lid: With the lid seated correctly, we didn’t see liquid slosh in a backpack or tote. What fell short Color wear: After normal hand-washing and dishwashing, the rose-gold color/finish showed noticeable wear. If the look is a major draw, expect cosmetic aging sooner than you’d hope. Divider vs. true bento: The single interior spacer doesn’t replace multiple compartments. Compared with our multi-container Bentgo box, we had less freedom to separate wet/dry or keep flavors apart. Portioning flexibility: That lone divider only creates two zones, and it can shift. If you pack varied lunches (salad + protein + snack), you’ll likely miss dedicated compartments. Day-to-day experience Capacity is fine for a standard lunch, and reheating is straightforward—just remove the lid. Cleaning is easy, but to preserve the exterior you’ll want gentle hand-washing; even then, our finish still lightened over time. The gasket seals well, but avoid overfilling saucy dishes; as with most lunch boxes, perfect “leak-proof” depends on careful packing. Bottom line If your priorities are non-plastic construction and microwave/oven reheat, the MicroSteel checks key boxes. But if you rely on classic bento flexibility, the single divider is a downgrade from Bentgo’s multi-container options. For us, the finish wear and limited compartmentalization tip the scales toward Bentgo’s multi-container models instead. ... show more

  • My new favorite lunch box
Color: Stainless Steel
I like the fact that this can be used in the microwave. I wanted to get away from reheating stuff in plastic in the microwave when I take lunch to work. Glass is too heavy and fragile. The metal is lighter. It does seem to heat up differently in metal though. But it's just something that you need to learn. It doesn't say on the description, but you shouldn't use this in a microwave over 1000 W. I just reduce the power on the settings and haven't had any issues so far. I can see how it might be a little difficult to open, but that's why I haven't had any leaks so far. Another plus is that metal is so much easier to clean than plastic since plastic is a pain to clean if you have anything oily in there. ... show more

  • Best Lunch Box Around!
Color: Aqua
I have tried quite a couple of different bento lunch boxes and none have come close to what the BentGo MicroSteel Lunch Box offers! It's slim enough to pack into most insulated lunch boxes. The metal material is as thin as possible while providing great heat or cold transfer from whatever you are storing or heating with. It's super easy to clean with the removal divider. It allows for adjustment of the compartment spaces due to the moveable divider. It prevent leaking from one section to another due to the shape of the divider. And it does a great job of sealing out any moisture! If that is not enough, their customer support team is great. I have asked a question and on the next day they have provided me with great feedback. As a contractor who is mostly eating in his truck, I really appreciate the attention to detail and quality in keeping my food fresh and in the temperature I hope for. I recommend their portable utensils to complement the lunch box. ... show more

  • Best lunch container ever
Color: Stainless Steel
I love this thing. Never ever leaks. I use the whole compartment for a daily salad. Put the ingredients in the AM. Then when I’m ready to eat I toss a can of Matiz sardines in there, smother it in dressing and olive oil, close the lid and shake it up! A perfectly dressed salad is the result. The little separator thingy is not really necessary, but I don’t use it because it doesn’t really separate the food. Like if you put yoghurt for breakfast in one side, and salad for lunch on the other side, it will leak yoghurt juice into the salad. Or vice versa, into the yoghurt with sardine oil and juice. So I bought the smaller micro steel series for my yogurt! Amazing that if I wanted to bring a different item for lunch, one that required microwaving, I could have that too! But I typically avoid hot foods at lunch. This thing is amazing! ... show more
