No matter what I did, the Bluetooth would absolutely not work, rendering the great majority of this gimbal's features inaccessible. But as I was unable to find any helpful info on how to fix this online, I will simply return it. Although this lack of information was frustrating, it could also be a sign that this is an uncommon problem; hopefully, that is the case, as I plan to rebuy the product after returning it. However, if the second product is also dysfunctional, this review page will hear back from me.

I purchased this gimbal as well as the DJI Mobile 3. The two are basically identical in terms of handling, and the app has some minor differences but basically the same (DJI has an ez mode stitcher that splices your videos together for easier editing, the 3XS does not have that feature, but everything else such as pano, time lapse can be done with both gimbals). I chose to keep the Benro 3XS gimbal over the Mobile 3 because of a few reasons. PRO: 1. You can plug short audio/charge cables from the phone to the base of the phone mount (top of the gimbal). This feature alone makes it far better than the Mobile 3, because you're not having to run longer cables. It acts as a passthrough to the handle. 2. There's a 3.5 audio on the handle. This allows you to plug a 3.5 TRRS microphone directly to the base of the gimbal which routes to the top of the gimbal where the shorty cables are, that goes to your phone. This makes handling way more streamline. Same goes if you don't have a headphone port, you can use your USB-C -> 3.5 TRRS jack. 3. The base of the gimbal (bottom part) has a charge port, so with a battery bank, you could tech charge the gimbal itself, at the same time is charging the phone. As anyone who uses their cell phone to record video knows, battery drain is a big issue, and this at least helps with that problem. 4. Wireless charging for the 3XS model. Note that my phone doesn't have wireless charging (Pixel 3A) so I can't really attest to this feature, but it's definitely a pro, if you're using any phone that supports wireless charging. CONS: After doing a lot of testing with different cables, power banks and wall outlets... I've concluded that the wiring in the 3XS gimbal is still using 2.0 rather than 3.1 or 3.1 Gen 2 standards. If you don't know what this means, pretty much you won't get rapid charging off of your fancy USB-C battery banks and cables. --- TEST SCENARIOS --- ### TOP USB-C (behind the phone mount) ### USB-C -> USB-C (90 degree) cable provided by Benro - WORKS (Slow Charge) USB-C -> USB-C Cable - DOES NOT work (cable not provided by Benro) (USB-C - > USB-A Adapter) to a (USB-A -> USB-C Cable) - WORKS (cable/adapter not provided by Benro) ### BOTTOM USB-C Port (at the base of the gimbal) for charging. ### USB A -> USB C - WORKS (this can be a 3.1 or 3.1 Gen 2 cable or a 2.0 standard as well) USB-C -> USB-C (90 degree) - DOES NOT work (cable provided by Benro) USB-C -> USB-C (90 degree) - DOES NOT work (cable not provided by Benro) (USB-C -> USB-A Adapter) to a (USB-A -> USB-C Cable) - DOES NOT work (cable/adapter not provided by Benro) In ALL scenarios, the phone will only do slow/standard charging. The gimbal charging doesn't have a way to tell if it's "rapid" charging but it is charging. Overall, I like this gimbal because I can use an external mic, and charge the phone while keeping things very streamline with the pass throughs. It keeps my payload light which is really what this setup is for. I'm not running a lot of cable and is easy to break down in case I need to take the phone off. My only wish is that Benro would've gone the extra mile to make the internals at least fast/rapid charging, otherwise what's the point of making the ports type C? This is why I gave it a 4 stars instead of 5.

I tried using the 3XS with my iPhone 11 Pro, but after placing my phone in the 3xs clamp to calibrate/balance my phone in the gimbal, the clamp presses down on the iPhone's volume button on the side of the phone and turns the volume all the way off, rendering it impossible to record audio. If I move the phone so it's not pressing down on my iPhone's volume knob, then the phone is not balanced in the gimbal and doesn't work properly. My 3xs also didn't come with a USB-C to USB-C cable so I can't charge it. This was my first Benro product and it will also be my last. Terrible. Why would you design a product that presses down on the volume knob of the phone? Isn't that blatantly obvious? How TF did quality control overlook that? My guess is that there was no quality control.

This device will make the novice look like a pro. My only issue is I wish it was easier to use. The main function of making it stabilize is so easy, but all the extras it takes some work to figure out. I won't even go on about the edition process (ha ha) But seriously, this is the best thing that could have happened in my cell phone world. All the videos I have made are such great quality now instead of that ugly bouncing that makes you motion sick when you watch other people walking with their phone. I'm pretty cheap when it comes to gadgets but this gadget I am not having ANY buyers remorse at all! Great buy!

I know what you're thinking because I did the same thing, it's cheaper... but there is a HUGE reason for that. Overall, it just was horrible experience. My phone constantly crashed when using the app and gimbal will slump while using it, meaning it will literally just stops working and my phone just points to the ground... I've INCREDIBLY upset with my purchase from Benro. I know they make good products but this was a total piece of garbage technology.

My friend brought this product over to my house and I tested it out it was really great I love the features getting it to balance on the other hand is a little difficult I guess if you have the patience the one thing I did not like about it was every time you took the phone off you had to re-balance and everything when you put it back on I ordered one for myself the company that delivered it whipped it onto my porch and broke it I sent her another one once again it was damaged in shipping so I gave up on buying one I wouldn’t But not anybody that does not have a lot of patience because of the fact you have to re-establish and re-balance the entire thing every time you use it
