After using this for a few weeks I'm not sure I still know how to describe what rose and sandalwood smell like. I want to say cedar sometimes, but then at other times I lean towards something more flowery. Regardless of what I seem to get, it's overall quite pleasant and not too overpowering, even with 4 reeds to diffuse it (while this is labeled a refill, throwing in a reed or two at this price point would've been nice). The bottle has a very clean aesthetic and despite being a refill also works as an actual diffuser if you need to use it that way in a pinch. Overall I'm still confused about how to describe the smell, but satisfied regardless.

I love Reed diffusers and have several around the house. I also have diffusers for the car and this scent is excellent in the home or car. It's strong but not overpowering and I personally like a stronger scent VS a weak one. Just to be clear this is for the oil only, it does not come with reeds. If you already have a diffuser you can easily add this to your set up or you can buy reeds and stick them directly in this bottle. It has a nice look to it if you wanted to go that route. Overall, it's a great smelling product and I love it!!

I'm not a fan of the scent, personally. It does not smell like either eucalyptus nor lavender, which seems strange to me. It smells like a men's cologne to me. I have a good ability to identify scent and taste: I used to work in the beverage industry, training in tasting for both wine, and then coffee and tea, so I consider that I had a career in scent (as scent is the main component of how we identify a taste / flavor). I look for pure beautiful scents in my essential oils. I'm not sure what is going on here that it does not smell like a combination of its components to my sense. But this will work well for a household where you want a very masculine scent.

Fragrance snob? Yea, guilty. I almost always dislike anything that says it’s scented with “lavender”. I lived in France, I grow my own lavender, and I love the smell of fresh lavender. But most of the time, lavender scented products smell terrible to me. Like “old lady stale perfume” terrible. If you know, you know. But I needed something for my master bathroom, and I wanted it to be calming scent. Almost something where you wouldn’t walk in a say “hey, what’s that smell”, but more just a scent that would create a calming environment without being “in your face”. It needed to be suitable for sleep, since it’s in the master suite. So pleased to find this Benevolence Lavender & Eucalyptus diffuser oil. It’s exactly what I was looking for, and, I’ll just go ahead and say it, it does not smell cheap. It just adds to the calming, spa feel of the water room. Sometimes I find myself just walking in there just to grab 5 seconds of calm. And if you knew me, you’d know that is a big deal. Last, very pleased that Benevolence sells refills for its diffusers. No need to add more waste if I already have the diffuser vessel and just want to refill it with this lovely fragrance.

Honestly I went for this particular diffuser oil because of the combination of lavender and eucalyptus but here they have used such fancy names in reality it is smelling like lavender & eucalyptus on a very mild notes. I felt the smell is more like tacky or like a petroleum or any heavy greasy oil can have. Omg the bottle looked so amazing and so did the names were but the product inside is not that great smelling. I don't encourage not buying because this can be subjective and you can have an opinion were you like it.
