I purchased two sets of kayak paddles for wife and I. I chose these as they are fairly light weight composite construction and pretty good value. We have used them and they are proving to provide good thrust and less fatigue versus the supplied aluminum tubing paddles that were included with the kayaks.

Great paddle. I have been using the standard 230 cm paddle that came with my kayak and was struggling some days. I had no idea that by increasing the length of my paddle it would make such a tremendous difference. The light weight construction of this is also amazing. When comparing what I had to this I thought "house much difference can 18 ounces make..." it really is amazing when you actually lay your hands on it. Bending Branches has a customer for life now !

Absolutely love it. Paddle all day without weight strain on the shoulders. Blades are pretty tough as I have run them into some oyster beds with no damage. The rulers markings on the shaft are very convenient. The two halves join with perfect tightness, no stick and no play or wobble. Very pleased with this product.

Sketchy shipping and packaging! Basically cardboard box to protect the paddle then put into a trash bag. Thankfully nothing happened to it! Other than that the paddle is awesome, lightweight and the paddle sticks in the water and doesn't flex. Wish I went straight to this paddle starting out.

I have a NuCanoe Pursuit kayak. My boat is 35 inches wide. This paddle performs well to propel the kayak with ease. The shaft seems quite strong. I have banged it on rocks, banks, tree limbs, other kayaks, stepped on it, etc. The only reservation I have about this paddle is that I wish it was a 280cm paddle to give me a small amount more clearance over the side of my Pursuit. BUT....like I said....my kayak is WIDE! For kayaks 35 inches or less, I definitely recommend this paddle. You will not be disappointed in this purchase.

Really, extremely, terribly disappointed in this paddle. I have other paddles that I paid good money for, but I wanted to retire them for ONE reason specifically. That reason is that the handles take on water. Let me be clear. There is absolutely NO REASON to buy an EXPENSIVE paddle that is LIGHT WEIGHT if the thing fills up with water. Just like other paddles, those being carbon fiber and half this price, the handle takes on water from regular use. If you can't seal the handle from taking on water, it's not worth a third of the money paid for it. Heck, it's really not worth it's weight in the mud from the bottom of the rivers I fish. Sure, it's fancy looking carbon fiber. That's supposed to make it light weight, but the left end of the paddle is now sloshing water back and forth inside. There is no way to drain the water. The water shouldn't be getting in there in the first place. It might as well be made of wood with a lacquer finish because that's a better design than this paddle is. Man I'm so mad. Totally defeat the purpose of buying an expensive, purpose made product. I would look elsewhere, I'm thinking of returning this joke of a paddle.
