  • Huge sound, Compact package!!!
Style: Powered Speaker
I am VERY satisfied with my purchase! Just for a little back ground. I had the B205D. It worked great, very loud, just not enough bass. Now for the B208D. It has a seperate tweeter. This helps it sound so much better. It's not trying to make the full range of sound come from one speaker. The 8" woofer gives great bass response. I also own two B215D Behringers. Even when compared to the 15" the B208D does a good job. I would buy it again. It works perfect for my needs for the space I have. It's plenty loud, but still small. Specially when I don't want to lug around a 15" speaker! I have pushed this speaker HARD for hours on end with no problems. I use it for streaming music from my iphone. Heavy Dubstep, ect. the back only gets warm. For the price you can't beat it! Bose, etc is just over priced. They are both made in China. You can't get anything this loud at BestBuy for this price! Only thing is it's 200 watts, not 220 like it says. Guitar Center by my house didn't have it in stock. If they had to order it, why not order it from Amazon! ... show more

  • Totally awesome.
Style: Powered Speaker
These speakers are great. They are small, but very powerful. Class D, so you get a little hiss, as with almost every powered monitor out there. My band uses them as stage monitors, and I do live sound on occasion for bands and community events. We are not a loud rock band, and therefore everything comes through crystal clear through these speakers. They have PLENTY of low end for vocals - in fact, I ended up rolling some off for lead vocals yesterday. Because they are small, they don't have overwhelming lows, which muddy up a monitor mix in my opinion. No feedback issues at all, totally clean and clear. Best small monitor system I could ever ask for for the money. I even think we can use them in the practice room instead of my big JBL mains... ... show more

  • So good, I purchased it again!
Style: Powered Speaker
I bought one speaker many years ago based off of a friend's recommendation. I liked it so much that I finally decided to purchase a second one. This speaker is great. It's small but packs a lot of power! It's great for backyard gigs, picnics in the park, or parties in small venues. I got tired of lugging around my 15" speakers. These are so much lighter and easier to throw in the car and to set up. So happy I have a full set now! ... show more

ok for home dj setup as monitor but dont expect much bass out of this. I returned the first one I received because it smelled like a burned circuit board and as obviously a open box item but the second one I received had the same bad smell. Its an okay speaker for the price but would go with another brand if I had it to do over again. ... show more

  • Pretty good
Style: Powered Speaker
For the size it's really good; I use it as a vocal monitor. Before this I was using a Mackie SRM350 (heavy!). I get more feedback from this due to how I use it (see below), but easily remedied by bringing the bass and treble controls down to about 1/4", leaving just the mids, so i can hear my vocals quite well without fear of feedback. Doesn't sound as good as the Mackie when adjusted like that, but I just want to hear pitch. When adjusted for optimal EQ it sounds fine for it's size, jsut don't push it too much. If your stage volumes are really loud or your drummer's a heavy hitter, I'd get something bigger. For a single or duo act, it's OK for really small venues, like 20 people in a small coffeehouse. Much more than that and you're pushing the speaker way too much, you'll lose clarity. IMHO it's a far too big for use on a mic stand, and you'd defintiely need sand bags. Controls and ins/outs are good. I haven't actually set up an A/B comparison to the Mackie, but at first I was a little surprised that I got that feedback. I use it on the floor and I like how it's small, so I can put this 208 about 3' closer, it's maybe 1.5-2' from my mic stand. Even though I angle my mic accordingly, that probably accounts for the feedback... you really need to get your monitor perfectly aligned with your mic, so they're on the same axis, pointed toward the back of your mic, to reduce feedback... and with it that close I can't get it exactly off axis. Plus it probably bounces off the floor. If I moved it further away I could get the angle better, but then it doesn't have the volume I need. That's not a fault of the speaker by any means, it's a SMALL speaker. But it's a trade-off I gladly accept, since this it away from the edge of the stage and drunk dancers. And i love how small and light it is. I even made a small wooden wedge to help hold it in the more up position, maybe 75 degrees (where 90 would be straight up at the ceiling). The cons: it doesn't even stay in the "built-in" standard floor wedge position very well, it's sort of OK on hardwood floors, almost impossible on carpet. Then again, it's a pretty light speaker. I wish they had molded a slotted clip or something into the cabinet, for a wedge that would keep it in place. My wooden wedge keeps falling off, guess I'll try industrial strength epoxy. No built in handle (that's pretty lame, but I easily made one that screws into the mic stand threads). And if you use it on the floor, you'll want all your cords, including power, to be 90 degree angles, so they don't bend, or interfere with the angle. I've been an audio professional, involved in audio production and bands, for almost 40 years. All in all, for my needs, it's pretty darn good... not the best, but decent. ... show more

  • From a prior DJ company owner......
Style: Powered Speaker
Wow. That's really all I need to say. I owned a DJ company for years and still own the best portable powered speakers ever (Mackie SRM-450) but for the application I intend to use these for the mackies were way to big & heavy. I bought these as I needed a small but powerful speaker..and so far these have not disappointed. Sound quality is ABOVE AVERAGE! I think "great for the price point". Build quality seems very good! (For a made in China speaker...) Nice bass for their size and highs are strong...mids are ok...but now for the "bad"....all minor though....first...these are not "light" speakers...they are not heavy either....my point....they do not have handles! Moving them is a tad frustrating....nothing major...the 2nd thing is the amp does not have exposed heat sinks! These are black speakers that I bet in many cases will be driven... possibility outside in the sun or in small spaces...amps hate heat! I have not had a problem yet...but heat dissipation equals better louder sound and a longer lasting amp! So overall I am very happy but wish I could give 4 1\2 stars...but I upped to 5 because Amazon did a good job getting to me in a short time (using prime)...now I just need time with these to see how they last! ... show more
