First kit? Buy it. That being said most of the plastic items are trash grade cheap and will most likely wind up unused in a junk drawer. The metal bits are for the most part much better quality. The frame holder though, needed work. Had to take a file to all the cut/stamped edges of the frame holder hive clips and the ends of the holder wire to remove all the sharp edges which would have scratched up the hive body or nicked a finger bloody, they were that sharp. Also flared out the bottom ends of the frame holder hive clips to facilitate ease of use. The tac welds used to adhere the hive clips to the holder wire are pretty dubious. Great value, lots of various tools, seem to be sturdy / well made (have not yet used). I did contact customer service with a question, and they were great at responding promptly and answering my question. Would definitely recommend.

    • Good quality product but only 2 queen traps
Received this a few days ago. All product seemed to be of good quality. Unfortunately, the listing stated three (3) queen traps and what appears to be two (2) yellow plastic traps and one (1) clear spring loaded clamp trap. Upon receiving, I only got the 2 yellow traps. I asked to be shipped a new package to replace the parts. Receiving the new package this evening, this package came with an itemized list of product and it lists only 2 Queen Traps included. It’s a minor issue, but I would have liked to have the clear, spring loaded trap, so I deducted a star. Otherwise, great product. High quality smoker and lamb skin gloves. This kit is legit for a first time beekeeper. Might not be the best of the best quality, but it has everything you'll need and more to get started. Very happy with my purchase.
