I absolutely love this topper. So many products claim to be “extra firm,” but once you actually sleep on them, they don’t live up to it. This one absolutely does. OMG, it's true! Really a firm topper for bad backs! I have ordered and returned several toppers claiming to be for back support and pressure relief, with all of them about the same. Their marketing is great but functionality for people with serious back issues was worthless! Most people want cushioning softness for comfort. People with bad backs need firmness with minimal softness. For us, soft means we sink into the topper, which causes worsening backpain, muscle spasms and for many severe pain in the mornings with difficulty getting out of bed. This was my case. They were all too soft. Latex was much better but still I needed more. This mattress was 90% perfect! It is not hot. It is really firm and supports your back. I can actually lay in bed and read without muscle spasms starting. My only tiny issue was I need a little support under arch of my back to prevent muscle spasms over night. I added a 1 inch memory foam on top which I had for a lounge chair, and this brought me to 100% satisfaction! Slept all night. No sinking, or muscle spasms in the morning and was able to get out of bed pain free!!! Thank you for making something for people who REALLY need and want quality and firm!! To add to your product line, I would suggest adding a topper with a THIN layer of memory foam which is just enough to add pressure relief to lower back without sinking or heating. Also, be aware that not all buyers are heavy, tall or big boned. I'm 5'2" and weigh 120lbs. So 3-4 inch toppers on top of the newer deep mattresses, is too difficult for people with bad backs to climb on to. ... show more

I bought a new mattress and it wasn't firm enough for my bad back. So I took a chance on this product. Now you need to allow it to sit out flat for 24 hours. You will feel when it has fully structured from being vacuum packed. It's fantastic. Highly recommend.

Let's face it, guys, getting older means aches and pains you never had before. My old mattress was starting to feel like a bag of potatoes, and I was waking up with a crick in my neck every morning. My wife suggested a mattress topper, and after some grumbling (because who needs another layer of fluff?), I agreed to give this BedStory Firm topper a try. Now, the first thing I noticed when I ripped open the packaging was the smell. Whoa boy, it was like a chemical factory exploded in my bedroom. Not exactly the relaxing spa experience I was hoping for. I ended up airing the darn thing out on the back porch for a couple of days before I could even think about putting it on the bed. But to be fair, the smell did dissipate eventually. Once the topper was finally bedroom-ready, I have to say, it made a noticeable difference. It added a layer of firmness that my old mattress desperately needed. No more sinking into a saggy abyss! I felt more supported, and my back pain has definitely improved. Even my wife commented that I haven't been tossing and turning as much. The topper itself isn't too thick, which I like. It doesn't make the bed feel overly hot or make me feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud. It's just the right amount of extra support without being too squishy. My only real complaint, besides the initial odor, is that it tends to slide around a bit on the mattress. I might have to look into getting some straps to keep it in place. But overall, I'm pretty darn happy with this purchase. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done. And for a guy who just wants a good night's sleep, that's all that matters. ... show more
