Once I unboxed this mattress, it expanded nicely without any odd smells. The two-layer gel memory foam felt supportive: firm enough so my hips didn’t sag, but with some give for pressure relief. I noticed good motion isolation — when my partner shifted, I felt minimal disturbance. My only small gripe: at my weight (around 180 lbs), edges feel a bit softer than ideal, so I avoid sleeping too close to the border.
