    • Fits some Honda motorcycles
I ride an older Honda Hurricane, which is a bike that is notorious for running on the warm side. The factory thermostat runs about 190ish degrees, but in the summer the bike can overheat in slow moving traffic. This is an airflow issue and a thermostat won't completely cure it, but I find that if this bike heat-soaks, it takes a LONG time to cool back off and it becomes more prone to overheating. This thermostat lets the bike run at 160 degrees most of the time, which makes a considerable difference around town and during slow riding. It takes a lot longer to heat-soak, and it cools off a lot quicker once the bike gets moving again. Yeah, this is a band-aid for an undersized cooling system on an old bike, but it works. I can ride without worrying about boiling the coolant in the overflow bottle or pegging the temp gauge in the red. Now that the weather is cooling off the bike is running a little on the cool side on the highway, but that's way better than overheating every time I stop in traffic. If it runs too cold I can always swap the 190 thermostat back in during cooler weather. If you have an older Honda motorcycle (I believe this will fit many years of the older Goldwing GL1200 and the ST1100 as well), this thermostat may be the ticket if your bike runs hot. ... show more

    • It works in a 1988 Ford Ranger XLT 2.9L V6
This worked in my 1988 ford ranger with the 2.9L V6 with factory AC. This comes with a rubber gasket, but it’s not correct for this engine as it has a positioning tab to protrudes out. I was able to reuse the old gasket because I had just installed a 195• model earlier this year. I’m sure you could get the correct gasket from and auto parts store though. It does fit the GEO Vin U 1.6 engine. Will keep the engine running at the minimun temperature not at the middle like the 82°. Didn't use the seal that came with it, used the old one.
