  • Just what I needed
Size: 92mm Style: Pure Wings 2
Good brand, good quality fan. With this size fan not being super common I was glad to find a nice one for not too much money. I use this in my Plex server, which doesn't really require major cooling but since the case I used only came with a single 120mm intake, which is mostly blocked by the multiple hard drives, I felt it necessary to get another fan for exhaust. Noise level is totally fine. I have quite a bit ambient noise but even putting my ear right by the case I couldn't hear anything. Package temps have been staying around the 40's C° (summertime) and considering there's an i5-11400 with a baby stock cooler and hardly any intake air flow I felt that was pretty reasonable. Need a 92mm for a decent price? This is it. You can spend almost double on a Noctua for a little extra airflow (about 46 CFM vs 33) at the cost of noise (around 3db) ... show more

  • They are very quite
Size: 120mm PWM high-speed Style: Pure Wings 2
These fans live up to their brand name. I have 3 of them along the ceiling of my case acting as chimney's. Since I have 7 other fans (besides the 3 be quiet! fans), very low noise was important for these fans. I also wanted fans that could spin up to a higher RPM than the standard 1600 that many manufacturers seemed to have settled on as a default. These fans have a top speed of 2040 to 2060 RPM. They do put out some noise if you are running them at full speed but I wanted the capability to suck out a lot of hot air quickly if a situation required that but they were never intended to run anywhere near that top speed normally. All 3 fans are generally running anywhere from 965 to 978 RPM. You really cannot hear them at that speed because I have 7 other fans that are louder and any noise these be quiet! fans make is lost underneath the background noise the other fans make. I am very happy with these fans. They are ideal along the inside top of my case (Corsair 5000 Airflow). They are designed to move air and they do a good job of it. The other fans in my case are all made by Corsair. I have a 340mm radiator mounted along the vertical side vent with 3 fans mounted on the radiator and I also have 3 fans mounted in the front of the case. These 6 fans all suck air into the case and across the radiator for the 3 that are mounted to it. The rear fan is exhausting air out. My radiator is a corsair and the fans that came with it are the fans that are mounted to it. The 3 in the front and the rear fan are mag lev fans. While in theory the mag lev fans should be super quiet because there isn't any friction between moving parts, it doesn't quite work out that way. They are pretty quiet but the be quiet! fans are even quieter than the mag lev fans. That is pretty damned impressive. I have only had them about 5 months now so how well they hold up over time is still unknown but so far so good. ... show more

  • be quiet! fans never disappoint
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Pure Wings 2
I don't run comparison tests and I certainly have not tried every fan, but I do know that be quiet! fans have never disappointed me. I routinely replace the stock fans in my cases and water coolers with be quiet! fans: they move a lot of air and are whisper quiet. The serious professionals who make YouTube videos using expensive testing equipment like them as well. I'm sold. ... show more

  • My favorite 80mm Fan.
Size: 80mm Style: Pure Wings 2
Put quite simply this is the best 80mm fan money can buy. It looks good, is easy to instal, and will last you a forever. They are very quite, move a good amont of air and are easy to install. My only gripe is that the first one I ordered came without screws, but they were able to replace it within 24 hours. ... show more

  • In-Depth Comparison
Size: 120mm PWM Style: Pure Wings 2
Quiet to one person may certainly not be considered quiet by someone else. For that reason, fan reviews are rarely reliable. Testing with a decibel meter can technically prove one fan is quieter than another, but doesn’t address the quality of the sound. I can subjectively say the Pure Wings fans are quiet and comparatively sound more pleasant than many other fans... mostly because I’ve tested and used a lot of fans (see photos). This is a subjective comparison from someone who has tested a lot of fans The Pure Wings are not the quietest fan and they don’t move the most air either. But, they are quiet enough and the sound they do make is extremely pleasant. I can detect no noticeable noise from the hub and the air from the blades has a soft sound. Below 600rpm, they are silent from any distance. Around 800rpm they become barely audible and are what I would consider quiet until 1200rpm. By 1500rpm, they are loud, but the noise is never harsh and does not drone at all. I run mine on a curve from 500rpm at idle and 1200rpm at load. All fans will make noise if you spin them fast enough. What matters the most is the tone of that noise. I have fans that are technically quiet, but have an unpleasant sound either from blades that drone or hubs that whirr, tick, or whine. The Pure Wings have none of those negative qualities and are comparatively better than everything else I’ve tested. For an alternative option, the Noctua Redux are the closest in terms of rpm and price. The Redux comes packaged the same as the Pure Wings, which is with nothing except 4 screws, both being an economy line. The Redux does have a higher static pressure than the Pure Wings, but that blade design also drones just a bit. The Arctic P12 are priced about the same and are receiving rave reviews. I would pass on those though. Two of mine make a noticeable tick and all of them have a whirring noise from the motor around 1200rpm. The best options sub-$15 are the Pure Wings or the Redux. If you want to spend more, Be Quiet Silent Wings and Noctua Brown are the best in terms of performance and the quality of noise. NZXT retail fans are also quite good. I was not impressed with Cougar Vortex fans or Arctic P12. Avoid the Cooler Master MF at all costs, they have a subjectively loud tick that makes them unusable. Any Corsair fan I’ve tested moves a ton of air, but are always loud. Be Quiet and Noctua are the best choices in my opinion, even their economy lines are better than the vast majority of what’s out there from other brands. **Update: I did some testing on the Pure Wings 140mm PWM non-high speed. That model has a rated rpm of 1000. I did have some trouble getting mine to 1000rpm using my digital fan hub, but instead topped out at 900rpm. I normally see a reduction due to dust filters and general case resistance, but it’s usually 50rpm or less. What I can say is that the 140mm is subjectively quieter than the 120mm at the same rpm, which is impressive given how quiet the 120mm is. My recommendation if you want the 140mm option is to buy the high speed version and set a custom fan curve. Or, buy the regular version and just run it at 80% to 100% all the time, which would work because it is so quiet. If you found my comparison helpful, please press that button. ... show more

  • Moves a lot of air!
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Pure Wings 2
I bought this fan to cool my new computer and it's great. It moves a lot of air from under the case upwards to the video card and cpu. Not too noisy.

  • Very quiet and easy to install
Size: 140mm PWM high-speed Style: Pure Wings 2
It is very quiet. I'll probably buy another one and replace a second 120mm fan that came with the chasis.
