  • If your 2280 NVME SSD is getting a bit toasty, get one of these.

If your 2280 NVME SSD is getting a bit toasty, get one of these. It's made very well, easy to install, doesn't take up much room, and lowers temperatures considerably. Try this before you try more drastic measures (such as adding a fan to cool things down).

Sits snugly under my graphics card - and I mean SNUGLY. Buyers beware that this cooler does have some thickness due to the heat pipes and may not fit all applications - the MC1 version doesn't have the pipes and is quite a bit shorter. Keeps the drive (970 EVO Plus) around 5 to 10c cooler but would likely be better with more airflow - situated as it is practically under my GPU airflow is limited. Has enough mass to where "normal" use won't cause any thermal issues, but if I were to do a lot of 500GB writes to the drive I'd feel better with more airflow around it - it does a fine job for what it is - but it IS a passive heatsink with limited airflow. It's in the WORST spot on my board and it's doing as well as can be expected - it's quality, but not able to violate thermal dynamics. Packaged very well, included a magnetized screwdriver. None of the 4 screws ever got "tight" - maybe by design (didn't look at the TINY screws to check). Used a little blue locktite on the screws just in case - likely not needed but better to be sure. DO NOT remove the "sticker" on your NVME unless you know FOR FACT that it is just paper. Removing it may void your warranty and, if it's a Samsung, that "sticker" is actually a heat spreader itself. Also - on a Samsung - if removed, yes, bubye warranty. Testing also confirms that, at least with Samsung, performance is better with it than without it. So again, only remove if you KNOW it's just paper - my understanding is that's pretty rare on quality drives. So, tl;dr - it works. Everything you need and made well. If you're in a situation where the heatsink will have some airflow along the fins I'm confident it will work well. ... show more

  • Absolutely works!
Style: BZ002
I installed this on my secondary NVME since my primary had a heatsink that was part of my motherboard. Before installing this heatsink, I would routinely see 10-15C deltas from the primary drive (with heatsink) to this drive (without heatsink). After installation, its dropped at least 10C off my idle temps, and roughly 10-15C off loaded temperatures. Now temps are right in line for both drives. If you want to prolong the life of your NVME, I highly suggest getting a heat sink. The BeQuiet unit her was a breeze to install, and was happy it came with its own thermal pads and a screwdriver for installation. 100% would buy again, and I should have bought this sooner. ... show more

  • Good cooling, good non intrusive looks.
Style: BZ003
As easy to install as any other heatsink, and blends itself well with a black mobo.

  • be quiet! MC1 M.2 SSD Cooler Heatsink for Single and Double Sided 2280 modules
Style: BZ002
I have a TEAMGROUP MP33 256GB NVMe drive installed in a 2U server chassis as a boot drive for my home server/NAS. I recently installed a 3 bay 3.5" HDD hot-swap dock in the 2U case's 2x5.25 optical drive bay, and was curious about temps of the 3x3.5 HDDs I installed, so I downloaded HDDSentinel to check out the temps. The 3.5" HDDs were all running at an acceptable ~30C, but the TEAMGROUP MP33 256GB NVMe drive was showing a frightening operating temp of 50C. I purchased and installed this be quiet! MC1 M.2 SSD Cooler Heatsink, and the temps immediately dropped down to 40C, better but still not great. I reconfigured the BIO fan settings for the 2x80MM cooling fans at the front of the case to run at full speed, and temps dropped another 10C to an acceptable 30C. The heatsink is well made and includes a tiny screwdriver to install it. The 10C drop in temperature is impressive. I docked the review one star for the price - TBH if I had known that the TEAMGROUP MP33 256GB NVMe was going to run so warm, I likely would have spent the additional money I shelled out to add the heatsink to get a better NVMe drive that perhaps includes its own heatsink or overall just runs cooler. The heatsink has peel-and-stick thermal pads on both the top and bottom of the NVMe drive, so it is a "one use" item, meaning if you end up removing the heatsink, it likely won't stick too well to another NVMe drive - I saw some complaints about that in other reviews, unwarranted IMO. This is a well made and effective item. ... show more

I recently replaced my Corsair HX1500i with the be quiet! Dark Power Pro 1600W PSU, and liked it so much, when I needed a m.2 NVMe heat sink I specifically searched for one made by be quiet! Not disappointed at all! It seems to be an excellent company with top quality products.
