  • In-Depth Review
Style: BW007 280mm
I was able to test the Pure Loop 120, 240, and 280. If you want the quick take, they are very good performers and relatively quiet. They come nicely packaged and the black and grey design will fit into any build. I would rank the Pure Loop among the best closed loop coolers for the $100 price point. Let’s dive in. After spending some time going through the marketing materials, I learned Be Quiet put some real research and extensive quality testing into this product. Be Quiet ran 50 units 24/7 for a full year to make sure their pump design was durable and remained quiet. Speaking of the pump, you may have noticed it is located on the tubing rather than the CPU block. This allows Be Quiet isolate the vibrations and get around that patent here in the US. Be Quiet also includes a bottle of coolant so that you can top off the unit every couple of years. Everything about the design and marketing shows they are going to stand by their product and they expect a long service life from these units. Installation was a breeze. Be Quiet uses the same mounting system as on their large air coolers. It’s very well received for being easy to mount and providing good mounting pressure. The logo on the block can be rotated 180 degrees depending on your setup and emits a pure white glow. With the pump located on the tubing, you do need to make sure that you orientate the radiator so that the pump is not on the top of the loop. Top mounting the radiator in your case will always work well. If you need to front mount or rear mount, the barbs need to be at the bottom as shown in my photos. Since the RTX 3080 is lengthy and the H510 case is not very deep, I had to run the tubes over the gpu. If you have a shorter card and a longer case, this probably won’t be an issue. Performance was very good. My overclocked 65 watt cpu, Ryzen 3600, pulls about 80 watts under load. That’s hardly a challenge. I noticed almost no difference between the 120, 240, and 280 units. You are unlikely to see the difference in radiator size until you move up to a 105 watt part or a very hot overclocked i9. If you have a 65w CPU like the one I tested with, you can definitely go with the Pure Loop 120 without sacrificing any performance. All three units run very quiet as expected. The included fans get very close to their maximum cooling potential around 55%, 1000 to 1100 rpm. Running the fans at 100% increases the noise substantially, but only lowers the temp another 1 or 2 degrees. I’d recommend the lower speed; mine are set to top out at 55% and I still get great cooling. The loudest component in the system is the pump. Despite the name, it’s not quiet as you think it would be. All pumps make noise. I’ve tested various units from Cooler Master and Corsair, the Pure Loop pump is not any louder than other units in my experience. But, with the fans being so quiet, it’s what you hear the most. Thinking critically, there are a couple of disappointments. Be Quiet included their Pure Wings 2 fans, which are their economy rifle bearing fans. They are very good. However, on their high end air coolers, Be Quiet includes their Silent Wing fans with a 6 pole motor and fluid dynamic bearing. I’m not sure why the air coolers get the premium fans and not the liquid coolers? My guess is the lower cost fans contribute to the Pure Loop’s affordable price. The other critiques would be that the pump is not PWM and there is a lack of rgb if that was something you were looking for. In conclusion, the Pure Loop is a very good unit at a great price, especially for the larger radiator models. They perform very well and remain fairly quiet as you would expect. Using the 120mm as an example, I’ve also tested the Corsair H60 (2018) and the Cooler Master ML120 Lite in this same system; all 3 perform within a degree of one another. So, you need to look at other factors to differentiate the brands. Being able to refill the Pure Loop units is a huge selling factor in my opinion and they have quieter fans than what you get from Corsair and Cooler Master. When it comes to price, all the Pure Loop models are just about ten dollars apart, they don’t get exponentially more expensive moving up the radiator sizes. You can buy based on the wattage of your CPU or what fits in your case, rather than the size you can afford. A few more inches of radiator doesn’t cost Be Quiet a whole lot more to make, so they kept the prices pretty close on the various sizes. I wish other companies would follow their lead. I found the 120mm unit to be more than enough for my CPU, but the 280mm fits and is only $20 more. So, that unit found a permanent home in my main desktop. • Excellent!
Style: BW006 240mm
Ever since many years ago when I upgraded my PC fans with this brand I always wondered why they didnt consider going into the cpu cooling market. So when my watercooling unit failed I started searching for a new one... this brand show up and it was immediately a no brainer even though I had to pay a bit more for it. I know this thing will be dependable and quiet which are most important to me. It does exactly what it says. Easy to install looks clean - no circuit-like RGB LEDs, or gimmicks like temp display. Straight up simple and quiet...Love it! ... show more

  • Incredibly quiet.
Style: BW007 280mm
Pros: - Totally inaudible when idling. (Fans and pump are very good quality. Something you wont get with other brands.) - Better cooling than a few different Asus AIOs that I tried. - Can handle my 12900k. (also installed thermalright bracket). - Price is great for a good quality 280mm AIO - Engineered in Germany Cons: - Slightly awkward to fit into a mini ITX case due to the in line pump ... show more

  • Very quiet...except...
Style: BW006 240mm
It is very quiet, don't be confused by some reviews. The fans are high-speed 120mm so they can spin at 2200 RPM which is much faster than other AIO's that come with 1800 RPM or slower fans. At highest speed the fans are necessarily going to be a bit louder which skews test results for max-speed noise ratings. Cooling performance is great though and doesn't require maximum fan speeds, definitely not for my 5800X CPU. Even with dialed back fan speed it still maintains proper temps and remains extremely quiet. I suggest letting the installation seat-in for a few days before making judgments about cooling performance. I also re-tightened the water block mounting screws after that: temps dropped about 2 degrees then. With everything seated it's letting my CPU boost higher/longer than it did with the 5 yo AIO it's replacing for better compute performance in benchmarks. It uses the AMD backplate making installation really quite easy for an AIO although it can be a bit confusing if not familiar with the design. The pump is on the hoses which has the wire that attaches to the pump fan header, the wire on the water block is just for powering the LED light. Speaking of: it's a bit bright for my taste so I leave it unattached. Wish there was a brightness switch. The only real problem is the pump noise, which isn't utterly silent even though "double detached". Running at 5000+ RPM it makes a very, very, faint high pitched 'hum' that's impossible to completely ignore if the room is completely quiet. It's not annoying, just there. Even so, it's much, much, MUCH better than the pump noise out of most other CLC's or just about any of the Asetek AIO's. ... show more

  • One of the Better Ones
Style: BW005 120mm
All Be Quite's products are top notch German quality merchandise. We use their fans and power supplies all the time for our computer builds. Even their air CPU coolers are a notch above the rest. All I can suggest is they follow the market and get some ARGB lighting on their CPU coolers. I do notice they have fans now with lighting. They just came out with a version 4 of their silent fans, and those, with lighting and a CPU cooler would be equivalent to the Mercedes-Benz Maybach autos. I know we would buy them all the time. While people appreciate the quality they also go for the bells and whistles that most cooler manufacturers offer. UPDATE: I see now be quite! has introduced a new line of coolers "Pure Loop 2 FX" that does have ARGB and PWM fans so thet caught up to the others now! ... show more
