I like that this doll does not have make up on and looks neutral. We are a Montessori family, and I bought this for practical life activities related to hair. It is a nice size. We won't be using the accessories that came with it. The doll's hair comes in a braid, which when removed, leaves a large chunk of very wrinkly hair. The hair also easily falls out when brushed. I purchased this as a birthday gift. My daughter's friend always plays with my daughter's styling head when she comes over so we thought this would make a great gift for the 8 year old. My daughter didn't want to give her the same head that she had, so I searched for a new one and found this. The birthday girl was so excited that she opened the doll head during the party. My daughter was able to play with it briefly as well. Although I can't speak to the long-term durability of the set, my 12 year old daughter seems to think it was well made. The only thing I forgot to research on this doll head was if it had a full head of hair. This doll does not. The hair plugs go in a circle around the doll's head, but if you wanted to do a half pony tail, you would expose the bald center of the doll. Apparently the birthday girl was not bothered by this detail. Personally, I like the one my daughter has better. It had a full head of hair that doesn't fall out when you brush it, and it's twenty less than this one. We found my daughter's at a local discount establishment with a red and white circle logo and the doll's name is Trista or Nessa. ... show more
