I purchased this product to make sure i liked it before having 2 of them. The first one came in and is as described. Took a a few mins to figure out how to put together - no issues. 2nd one I ordered - i clicked reorder button and amazon was Out of stock and ordered it from 3rd party. 3rd party sent me a Chinese knock off, not even close to being the same otherwise I would have kept it. Lets be real we all know where this stuff is made. However they are not the same as in the picture if you pay attention to detail. Attached are photos of the boxes, the baxton one and the one in the un-named box with no style numbers etc. if you look at the picture of the wood the legs are constructed completely different, not tapered, the stain is different, the cushion color is different. As for putting together and people saying the holes don't line up - you need to loosely put the all the hardware in first, then tighten everything once its all together. I never tried to assemble the knock off so who knows maybe the holes don't line up. And finally, if you get a baxton brand chair be aware it is very stiff to sit on, I am ok with that but others may not be ... show more

For $163 I’m quite impressed with these chairs. Packaging arrived via UPS in good shape, not torn up like many amazon furniture reviews mention. Inside the box the furniture had ample packaging and was overall in very good shape. I found just a couple dings but nothing major, the light damage looked to have originated from when it left the factory as the spots where I’ve seen any were well padded in the box. Assembly was a bit of a head scratcher thanks to the odd diagrams and broken English, ended up just winging it. With that said, assembly was fairly quick and not difficult, only required a Phillips screwdriver and 3/16 Allen key. The Allen key was included but a Phillips screwdriver is not. Much easier to assemble with a quality driver than their provided Allen key. The end result is solid. The cushions are quite firm but that makes for a more comfortable chair to sit in for a long period, the armrests are a bit low but that’s better than too high in my opinion. The cushions are a bit small so don’t expect a any support on your upper back or below mid thigh. At least that’s as far as they reach on me, 6’ and about 180lbs. Width is comfortable as well, not overly narrow, just wide enough for me to cross me legs without them pressing into the armrests. Stitching on the cushions is well done and the fabric was cut properly, no asymmetrical lines or shoddy craftsmanship to ruin the aesthetic. Amazon allows 3rd party vendors to use the same photos and reviews across different lesser quality products. I thought when it said "amazon's choice" that it would come with a guarantee. But apparently not. I don't think amazon should allow this practice, the other chairs from the reviews are a much higher quality. Maybe amazon should get out of the furniture business, if they cannot guarantee what is shown matches the quality you receive. ... show more

Definitely a wonderful chair - especially for the price. I bought a pair for our receptionist area. Shipping was on time and boxed very securely packaged. Not the best instructions for assembly but 20 mins per chair and I could take these photos. Cushions are stiff initially. Perhaps they'll be more comfortable after a few weeks. Gorgeous chair, appears to be very well made. Solid wood arms/legs look even better in person. Chair itself is fairly firm which to me implies it will last longer. Assembly instructions were poorly explained but we assembled it in about 20 minutes and could do it a second time in 10. I would recommend. ... show more

This is not the Baxton chair as shown in the photos. I chose to assemble it anyway in hopes it would be fine but it’s just not at all what was advertised. Screw covers are ugly plastic, the color of the wood is much darker, and the back of the chair is uncomfortablely straight. This garbage chair is being returned. I’m guessing the chairs from the Amazon warehouse are correct but the one sent to me by the vendor “OUTROAD” is not. ... show more

This chair is gorgeous! Exactly as pictured and feels very well made! This chair is very firm, which I expected based on previous reviews. It is also a bit difficult to follow the instructions, which slowed the assembly. But it only took me 45 minutes to assemble the chair by myself. Keep in mind, it includes nearly all components required for assembly, but you will need your own Phillips-head screwdriver or drill. I assembled mine manually. I’m extremely happy with this chair and am excited to show it off to friends and family! Also, I’ve read reviews about getting the wrong item from what is pictured. Make sure the seller is listed as Baxton so you’re actually getting the product from the picture instead of a knock off. ... show more

This is a great chair. I agree with other reviewers that it’s very firm, but it really is comfortable. It’s surprising when you sit in it for the first time how firm it is, because it looks cushy, but it feels really good to sit in. It’s well-designed in seat height, back angle, and arm height. And it’s soft enough. It’s also very easy to assemble. Attach the seat to the back, attach the two arm/leg side pieces, and attach the front cross bar. NOTE: there is a fabric zipper flap on the underside of the seat you have to unzip to assemble the chair. I didn’t notice this at first, and couldn’t figure out from the illustration where I was supposed to screw the pieces together. But, as I said, it’s very easy to assemble — even for someone like me, who is obviously not very good at these things. ... show more
