We moved into an older house and the tub was disgusting. The stains would not come up after rounds of bleach and scrubbing! I came across this and asked my painter boyfriend if he could refinish the tub in it! I ordered it and it came in few days and it was in a small box! I was like dang, maybe I should have ordered two. 😅 He mixed it up and said that it would be more than enough to coat the bathtub multiple times. He prepped the tub and then rolled it on and cut around fixtures using a paintbrush! He did like two full coats on tubs and the shower wall. Hr still had some leftover when he finished! (The fumes from this are really strong!!! Please make sure to wear a mask cos the it will probably knock you out!) It took him about an hr! We left the bathroom fan on and let it cure for like 24 hours and it was ready to use! It looks soooo good! It’s been over a month since he refinished it and it looks sooo good still! It is bubbling slightly around the fixtures but other than that, it’s good! The bottom of the tub looks good. There’s no peeling or flaking! Tips on caring for it: Clean with tile cleaners and a microfiber cloth! Do not use any bleach or abrasive cleaners or scrubbers! No tape or anything adhesive. Not sure what happened the other night. Bathroom looks great but got picked up streaking through the neighborhood. On a real note make sure to wear a respirator and seal off the room with ventilation. Covers thick and self levels. I would suggest ordering an extra kit than you think you need. and returning it if you don’t need it. Check the coverage per box. I skipped the sandpaper and went straight to using a grinding bit as I didn’t see any scratching in the glaze from the sandpaper. Also use a heavy duty paint tape. I used frog delicate surface and the roller lifted the tape a couple times and almost screwed up the glaze. Also make sure you have extra supplies on hand just incase. My foam brush started to fall apart and almost didn’t make it. Take extra time prepping vacuuming and whipping down with tack cloth. Still got a hair in an area and they float to the top of the glaze. Suggest using a full body sterile suit. Hair probably came of my clothes. Definitely have extra gloves handy. Also if doing a floor area have a drop cloth area so you don’t track it on your feet. I used throw away booties but didn’t have a drop cloth area and somehow got some on my sock, and tracked onto laminate floor. Luckily a scotchbright pad and soapy water did the trick cleaning it off. For the time to prep and the potential to screw it up I would probably just pay someone to do it if I had to do it over. ... show more

This was the perfect DIY refinishing kit for our tub. We had the shower retiled, but they were gonna charge me $500 to refinish the tub. I watched a video online and saw how easy it was to do myself, so I bought this kit. It does have a strong odor, but I opened the window and wore a mask. I also turned on the fan to air it out after I was done. It took about a day to dry. I would say this was worth the price and the tub looks brand new. ... show more

    • Amazing and covered ugly blue bathtub / shower

This stuff works really well. We used it in our rental to cover an old blue 80s bathtub, instead of replacing it. It took 4 kits to cover it because it was a full enclosure with even a ceiling. But it worked. It smells really bad, like seriously nasty chemicals. You will need adequate ventilation and an N95 mask. This stuff is no joke. You also have a window of 3-4 hours before it hardens. If one person gets light headed from the crazy smell, it’s nice to have a second person to tag in. It covers really well, and it does not chip off over time with shower usage. We are going on one year, and it still looks great. I would recommend having lots of rollers available. The foam ones work best. This stuff is mega thick, and the rollers go bad quickly. You will also need sponge brushes for detail and tons of those because the thickness of the stuff will cause those to break a lot. ... show more

I wanted to love this. It went on great and covered my pink tile tub surround. Unfortunately even though I very very carefully followed the full instructions to the letter, it chipped right away and large chunks fell off. I wish I could get a refund and it was a waste of time.

    • Old tub looks brand new!

This tub refinish kit was easy to use and apply. Read the instructions and apply in a well ventilated room since this stuff stinks for two days. I used painters tape around all the edges then dabbed the product into all corners with a cheap foam brush, then used a foam roller for the textured area, waited 45 minutes, then used a new roller for the entire tub. It went on easily but you need good light to see where you may have missed full coverage sine it’s so shiny and uniform. Put the roller in a ziplock bag when done and don’t touch it for an hour, then come back and look for any drips, then use the roller to fix any spots easily. I messed up and leaned on the edge with a rag in my hand and thought I ruined it. I scraped off the area and used the same roller to fix the mess up in a second. Whew! It is so sticky and wet for a while you’ll want to close the door and stay out for 24 hours. Looks like a brand new glossy tub and the textured bottom is a great feature! Saved $300 doing this myself. ... show more
