    • It’s decent but needs more audio samples

I’m a hobbyist guitarist that’s trying to learn a bit of bass. I can’t read standard sheet music very well, so I rely on tab and my ears with audio samples to learn. This book has tab, which is nice, and it has audio samples, which is also nice, but the audio samples are few and far between. Some of the exercises that have more elaborate rhythm to the bass line are hard for me to grasp without being able to hear it. So I’m quite disappointed that there aren’t more audio samples. Also, there’s a misspelling on the cover of the book (at least on the print I got, maybe they’ll fix it?). That’s not a big deal, but it makes me question the overall quality of the content when something like that slips through the cracks. So far the content seems pretty good to me. I’m still working through the 1st chapter. I’m learning some good stuff so far. I tried a different book before this one but it didn’t have tab and didn’t really provide exercises that were real bass lines, they were more like nonsensical notes that didn’t make a cohesive bass line that was fun to play. This book, on the other hand, jumps right into bass lines that are interesting and fun and recognizable. I really appreciate that about this book. It makes learning less tedious. I think it’s a worthwhile book to learn from aside from the gripes I have. ... show more

This is basically a book for someone who knows nothing about the bass. It is basically little bas blurbs.

There are several examples of songs that aren't written properly and don't sound at all like the actual song. I don't know how they made so many mistakes. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!
