Poor Ken always ends up being the one to go to the beach. I wanted a Ken doll that didn't look like he was on his way to sunbathe or surf. After searching, I found this Ken doll set that matched my criteria. Ken is slightly taller than Barbie standing at 12" tall. He is slim with light skin, blue eyes and dark blonde hair styled in the classic plastic Ken fashion. He comes dressed in pants, shirt and loafers. The pants have the appearance of being distressed denim however, they are just screen printed cotton pants that slip over the doll. The top features a plaid print and closes at the front with velcro. The plastic white loafers easily slip onto the doll's feet. Additionally, he comes with accessories like an ice chest, binoculars, map, water bottle, chip bag and sunglasses, all made of plastic except for the map which is made from cardstock. One drawback of the Ken set was its packaging. While Barbie dolls are usually fastened to the box with clear rubber bands for a neat display, Ken was also attached with two plastic tags at the back of his head. Unfortunately, removing him from the packaging resulted in two small holes in his head. There was no way to get around removing him from the box without causing these holes. This doll was held securely in place with rubber bands so the additional plastic tags were unnecessary and caused damage to an otherwise perfect doll. ... show more

    • What A Cute Boy Doll... and he has clothes on!
When I shop for my grandkids, it is hard to find a fully clothed male doll. Even harder to find one with accessories. It is stupid because it is a loss in market for the company. Afterall, some boys enjoy playing with their sisters and girls want to have just as many cool things for their boy dolls as for their girl dolls. I purchase this boy doll for my granddaughter when it was explained to me that one of her girl dolls needed a husband. It pleased us both to find a guy with an outfit that was pants (not board shorts) and a proper shirt (not topless or in a floral pattern). If you have a Barbie doll you must have a Ken doll. I bought this for my 5 year old grandson who loves Barbie. She was very happy to get Ken. The doll is well made and clothes are well made also. I feel the price is a good one. I would certainly recommend this doll and would purchase again.
