I ordered these as a future gift for a hairdresser. The scissors come with a key to adjust the resistance level and some lubricating oil. I counseled with some hairdresser professionals in person to get some objective, informed input on these stainless steel scissors. The most emphasis seemed to be how lightweight the scissors felt, which makes a difference when cutting hair for an entire work day. They felt the scissors moved well and quickly. They felt durable and sharp. The hairdressers liked the silicone inside ring (finger holes) on the scissors. I personally found the inside and outside rings a bit tight for my fingers, which are average in thickness. The salon professionals liked the attractive look of the scissors. They also liked the emblem on the hinge area (the adjustment screw). One felt the blade might be a bit thick for neck or close cutting. She also liked the position of the finger rest (the curved part on the outside ring). All in all, they loved the scissors. One was planning to order a pair for herself. These are very well made hair cutting scissors that come nicely packaged and include oil and their specialized tension adjustment tool (though they claim the specialized screw won’t need adjustment as often as competitors). The finger loops are coated in a comfortable silicone (or silicone-like) material which adds to their overall grip and ease of use. They’re also made with a high quality stainless steel which should lead to high corrosion resistance and a long life span. No one in our household is a barber or hairdresser but we do occasionally need to trim each other’s hair and/or beards. So, as amateurs we can’t attest to the quality of these scissors compared to other professional grade hair styling scissors, but I can say that they’re a huge leap forward for us…these are extremely smooth cutting and make the hair cutting scissors we’ve been using seem like preschool construction paper scissors. This is a prime example of getting what you pay for and you get very high quality hair cutting scissors with these. Some use and care instructions would’ve been nice, but I’m still giving these five stars. ... show more
