Bought this for my 13 year old to supplement his workouts at home when we can’t get to the gym. Absolutely perfect. Sturdy and would purchase again in the future if needed. I don’t know that I would use it for heavy duty lifting but for myself (lots of Pilates) and a young teen, perfect. The bar is sturdy as well, the size is a bit compact but that works well for the small space we are using it in.

Unfortunately, I’m in the one star group. I wanted to love these weights so much - I read all of the reviews about the plastic weights and breaking. Here’s the problem the 2 and 5 pound weights are packed perfectly with padding. The 10 pound weight at the bottom have no padding so if the box drops, the weights are guaranteed to break. The manufacturer needs to put padding under those 10 pound weights.

Read description carefully. The bar is of a 3-section design that snaps together. Weights are concrete filler plastic shells. Drop them on the ground and they will crack. My set arrived with a 5-pound weight damaged beyond use and with 1 10-pound weight missing. The box it came in was totally trashed from mid-handling. Had to send it all back. I’ll pay for cast iron on my next set. Can’t do much about mishandling the shipment, but cast iron won’t break.
