  • Achamusi Barbell Rack Stand
Very easy to assemble. It was easy to adjust to my requirement height for the bench, I don't plan to use it for squats. I added 2 inch piping as can be seen in the photo to mount the 2 inch Olympic plates for storage. Very stable and can handle Olympic barbell set very nicely. Very solidly built. Exceeded my expectations for the price. ... show more

  • Satisfied
I wanted a basic rack for barbells for chest presses that would work with my adjustable bench, and nothing too large. As others have written, world's chintziest paint job, arrives with a bunch of paint divots missing (but the underlying metal seems ok)--could they at least include touch up paint??! Otherwise seems solid and stable. Assembled in under 15' with only a glance or 2 at the directions, and it seems to work fine and is stable with moderate weights. Look, it's about $100 and I wasn't prepared to spend the $6-800 minimum for a decent American-made bench-press rack (spent my $$ on the REP bench instead), so seems to fit the bill. Oh, and for the guy posting that the rubber foot coverings don't fit right, soak them briefly in hot water first to soften, and they then fit perfectly. ... show more

  • A great entry-level option to get started with
If you are looking for something affordable to get started with that can take a lot of weight but doesn't cost as much as some of these Olympic-level solutions you find yourself investing in once you start lifting crazy amounts of weight, this is a great place to start. The build quality of the rack is decent enough to take on a good amount of weight. However, eventually, if you plan to bulk out, you'll be upgrading something a little more intense. Then again, if you only look to tone a bit but nothing crazy, this may last you forever. It comes together pretty easily and most of it you don't even need instructions for. Which is good since the instructions aren't 100%. The count of parts vs what you really need/get aren't exactly accurate. However, you do get what you need and in some cases more than you need (ie, washers). The rubber feet are a little too tight. It makes them look a little funny as you can see from one of the images. Like wearing a t-shirt that is a little too tight on you causing it to pull tight around the arms. They do eventually slide on and they may stretch to fit over time through wear. This doesn't take any stars away though since it was our only beef with the parts and it is so very minor. The price really isn't that high as long as it is close to around $100. I don't think it goes much higher than that as the "normal MSRP" might be inflated to make you feel like you are saving a lot. Assuming it does stay at the lower cost, you are getting a deal. Our review drops a few stars though if it does jump up any higher. **If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so we know. • Really sturdy and stable!
This is a really sturdy and stable squat rack. Solid construction! It only takes a few minutes to put together. The versatility of having two different levels to return your barbell to is fabulous in the middle of a hard workout. If you're doing deadlifts or cleans, you can use the lower rack and it you're doing squats, presses, or anything overhead, it's really nice to not have that upper return and not have to return it to the lower bar. Most people can back squat a lot more than they can press, so this will let you safely hit your max levels. The plate racks at the bottom are a really nice feature, too. It reduces the amount of extra equipment you need, while adding extra stability to the rack. Recommend! ... show more

  • I'm not sure what the target demographic for this is
Incredibly unstable. There's a video on here that shows the whole rack leaning backwards when you place your barbell on it, that's 100% accurate. I saw it and thought maybe the guy didn't put something together correctly, then it happened to me. The metal retention pins to slide the arms up and down are flimsy, do not stay in place, and one fell out around the 3rd time I put the barbell in the cradle. Luckily I still had weight on it, or I'd have eaten a barbell to the face. These pins need a cotter pin or something on the other side to help retain them. Why they didn't use another pull/screw pin I don't understand. I managed to get it semi stable by placing the adjustable arms low enough to also be able to put the spotter bar pull pin into it, but that just kept it from collapsing downwards. It still tipped backwards while putting the bar in the cradle. But now it's so low it's useless for squats unless I want to start on my knees. Using it with my bench, due to how high the cross bar is off the ground, I have to either position the bar a good bit in front of me, or far enough that it's awkward to cradle it. Mix in how unstable this is and tipping backwards, and it's an accident waiting to happen. Returning. Also, for what it's worth it wasn't hard to put together. My instructions were almost illegible though, not sure what was in the box, but looked like black sand or metal dust coating everything mixed with oil maybe? ... show more

  • This is a sound piece of equipment spoiled only by the lousy assembly directions.
The directions were utterly incomprehensible. But i found I didn't need them. In my lifetime, I have assembled everything from a HeathKit DX-40 transmitter back in the 1950s to bookstands, so perhaps I am advantaged, but,, hey, with only four bolts and preassembled main components, common sense suffices. And the parts were all great and came together to make a really attractive and strong squat stand. I'm sure it can take 550 pounds as advertised, but I would never use more than 150 pounds unless I had some buddies to to spot me. I usually obey Murphy's Law (If something can go wrong, assume that it will go wrong). As regards the instant choice, the greater the weight the stand will bear provides an extra margin, but that's no reason to flout Murphy's Law. ... show more
