Considering the price is about $30/chair, these are a pretty good deal. Assembling the chair itself is pretty simple. Four screws attach the seat to the seat base plate using the included Allen wrench. That slides on the chair shaft (gas cylinder) and that slides into the chair base. That's it. You're done. Operating the chair is pretty straightforward. Press the slide lever to move the chair up or down and release when you reach the desired height. You'll want to be on the chair when adjusting the height, especially when trying to lower it. It takes a fair amount of pressure to push it down. One of my chair cushions has a defect in the seat base cushion. The seam is starting to come apart. I took a picture of the defect. Overall, not a bad chair for the price. It's not top quality, but for the price, it's not bad either. My rating method: 1 star - terrible. I wouldn't consider buying it. 2 stars - marginal at best. Doesn't meet the minimum requirements or quality to be useful. Buy it at your own risk. 3 stars - average. Meets the quality and requirements for a product of this type but is nothing out of the ordinary. If the price is good, I'd probably buy it. 4 stars - better than average. Exceeds the typical quality of a product of this type and has a few extra features not usually found on other products of this type. I'd buy it. 5 stars - exceptional - far exceeds the quality of products of this type. Hard to beat the quality and features included. Best value for the money. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.

I'm not a huge fan of the seat material. The texture feels like it should have some kind of protective coating on it, but it doesn't. Kind of like when you leave a shiny material in the sun and the coating weathers away. This lends itself to easy finger prints and scratches. The finger prints show up shiny on the matte surface, and anything abrasive will scuff it immediately. We also ran into an issue with the screws and wrench provided. We can't tell if the screws are bad quality, or if the wrench is too small, but the screw heads kept stripping throughout the assembly process. With that said, assembly was easy, they look very sleek, and seemed to be stable under my weight of 170lbs. Because of the price, I say these are a great value, despite their flaws. This can't be overstated: the price really is great for two bar stools, so I'm only taking one star away for the material choices.

I have a basement bar and have been needing a couple of decent chairs for it for quite a while. I wanted something with a sturdy base or legs and foot rest that can swivel and adjust up and down. These chairs hit all the markers and for a price of about $65 for the pair (at the time of this review). They are not very heavy in weight so they are fairly easy to maneuver around if needed but they feel pretty sturdy when sitting in them. Obviously you don't want to try leaning back in them or they might break or just tip you out of them. Sitting in them at the bar is quite comfortable and having the foot rest that moves with the swivel of the chair is great. I have a dart board that my buddies and I like to play on when we are hanging out in the basement and we are constantly getting on and out of these chairs and have yet to feel like they are going to break or anything. The box showed up with the chairs disassembled in 4 pieces per chair: 1) the base 2) the inner post 3) the outer post and foot rest with base that attaches to 4) the seat. Assembly was very easy. The box also included 8 hex inset bolts that attach the seat to the outer post assembly. There are two wrenches included that will work to tighten the bolts but it doesn't really fit the hole of the bolt so they are very easy to strip. I just went and got my own set of hex drivers and tightened them down properly and tossed the "things" they included in the garbage where they belong. If you don't have your own set of wrenches to tighten the bolts, they included ones will work but you'll probably be needing to retighten the bolts in the near future, depending on use of the seats. I'm not going to deduct a star from the quality of the seats for the included tool though. Overall, I am very pleased with these new bar stools and can easily recommend them, especially for the price!

At first I thought I was going to like these more than it turns out that I do. They were easy to put together. Both chairs were done in 10 minutes after opening the box. There are just 4 screws per chair to put in and an allen wrench is included. The chairs are light and easy to move around. They look nicer than many bar stools and the back rest is comfortable. They are height adjustable (one of my pictures is of the lowest height and the highest height next to each other). And they have a foot rest that stays with the front of the chair. The negatives, however, are that they are wobbly and unstable. I definitely would not let children anywhere near them, nor elderly, and other adults have to be careful at all times. There are also several blemishes - chipping on the metal parts and holes in the seat stitching as well as pieces sticking out that can rip clothing. Finally, the seat is surprisingly uncomfortable. For some reason, they made the backrest much thicker than the seat that you sit on, which is the reverse of how it should be. The backrest is actually comfortable, while the bottom seat that all your weight is on is thin and you can feel the metal underneath where you put the screws in. I would not personally purchase these again but depending on your expectations and your use for them, they may fill a need for other people.
