The turbocharger on my 2014 CLA 250 4-MATIC had repeatedly heated and cooled the plastic intake housing so many times that the plastic became brittle and was falling apart. Is it necessary to replace this, probably not because it is still before the air filter? However, it looked bad under the hood and I did not want pieces of plastic falling all over the engine compartment. I ordered this intake duct housing and it felt more sturdy than the OEM one I removed. the flexible portion of the duct was also thicker which was nice. I noticed that the clean air hose on my car was starting to get a hole in it. I ordered this part not shire it was going to be of the same quality as the original part. I was happy to find that it was even better than the original.

    • Lasted a little less than 3 years/30k miles
Bought in November of 2020. As of June 2023 and about 30,000 miles later, the heat has taken it toll and it is crumbling apart. I guess you can say its okay for a value aftermarket part. Original that it replaced lasted 5 years and about 50k miles.

The intake snapped in with zero weird twistinnon the part itself. The part has been resisting the turbo heat for about a year, now. I would buy it again.
