Description

Bando has been manufacturing rubber products for over 100 years. Bando is the OEM suppliers to over 80 percentage of the top 10 cars sold in the U.S. (by volume). As an OEM belt manufacturer, the serpentine belts are precision ground two times to insure adherence to OEM specification. Belts produced from a mold process will not achieve the exact rib profiles that are required by OEM suppliers. Bando belts are made with EPDM rubber which adheres to OEM specification which is more heat resistant and long lasting. With 19 plants worldwide, Bando is the 3rd largest manufacturer of automotive drive belts in the world. Bando USA manufactures belts in Bowling Green, Kentucky. All Bando belts are produced to one premium set of standards with only OEM quality. They manufacture power transmission belts for the automotive, industrial as well as agriculture providing complete coverage for domestic, import and light truck. Bando USA, with an ISO and QS9000 certified plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky has 16 additional plants located in 10 countries producing belts for local OEM. Automotive belts, serpentine, timing and V-belts from Bando are engineered to meet the unique requirements of high performance engines for applications that run the gamut from international racing teams to light duty trucks. Bando manufactures belts for the leading automakers, supplying both OEM and aftermarket applications, all to the same exacting standards of quality.

Beware of the product description it is misleading. "Bando USA manufactures belts in Bowling Green, Kentucky". My belt was made in Indonesia not Kentucky. I believe this needs to be removed so people like me who want a USA made belt actually get one and not one made overseas.

  • True Story, and the Joke's on the Pharissees !!!!
Style: 6PK2385
* * Initially Ordered the belt from the Local Mercedes Dealer in Wilsonville, Oregon and paid $186.00 ..... Then ordered this for $14.00 bucks just to compare. ,,,,, To my horror,, they were both identical, one, and the same,,, with all the same manufacturer's packaging and markings !!! It goes without saying,,, I took the very package back to Mercedes and received instant refund. .... Even their own computer couldn't tell the difference !!!! ... I'll leave you to calculate the savings I have achieved in so doing !!!! And it was all legal, moral as well as being really the very right thing to do. Funny thing is, once the refund was back in my credit card account, I called Mercedes and told them just for the heck of it !!!! ,,,, Profits? Yes .... That's what business is all about. ,,,, But rapacious greed, connivance, deceipt and avarice in this epically despicable manner? ,,,, That's not business,,, that's the Pharisees of old, back again at their wicked, wicked practice !!!!! * * * ... show more

  • Perfect fit for my 2007 Acura TL Type-S
Style: 6PK2135
This drive belt was a perfect fit for my 2007 Acura TL Type-S, which didn't really surprise me given that Bando has made the OEM belts for Honda/Acura in the past. You simply cannot beat the sub-$20 price tag on this belt when Acura will charge you more than double, and other, lower-quality belts still cost more. Tip: If you don't have a serpentine belt tensioner tool, don't waste your money on one. All you need is a 14mm socket and a piece of pipe (thick PVC or steel, both under $10 at any home store). Put it on the tensioner pulley (see attached image) and push towards the firewall. 10 minutes is all you need to swap the belts. ... show more

  • Not happy at all with this product
Style: 6PK2405
I bought this belt for my 2006 Mercedes E350, I drove the car three times after, on the last time the belt shredded on the freeway, first I lost power steering and the car systems started to die bit by bit, it took me almost 7 minutes to get off the freeway, I towed my car to a mechanic shop, replaced the belt, tensioner, main battery and the backup battery still needs a replacement, I ended up paying almost $700 for parts and labor, please see the attached photos. Not happy at all with this product. ... show more

  • Failed Within A Year
Style: 6PK2395
I bought and installed this serpentine belt with new tensioner just 12 months ago. All was well, until three days ago on a fast moving freeway, the car began to stall. Alternator warning lights came on. I managed to pull up on the right shoulder. The car stalled completely and refused to start. Opened the hood, all seemed ok, except that belt was slackened and not tight enough to drive the alternator. Tow truck took forever to arrive, and I was finally towed away three hours later. For three hours, I was exposed on a very busy freeway with cars traveling at 80 miles per hour only a few feet from me. This is my overall cost of buying this cheap serpentine belt: 1. This belt: $19.36 2. Towing cost: $130.00 3. Taxi to store: $7.35 4. Install Labor: $75.00 ================== Total Cost: $237.71 ================== I have not included cost of new belt at $32.99, plus install labor of new belt at $75.00. Also not included the value of my time sitting on the expressway for three hours. I am kinda grateful I was not hit by another vehicle. Also lucky I did not have to replace tensioner pulley. Conclusion: Never ever buy cheap serpentine belt. You will be stranded and your overall cost may be up to ten times the cost of superior quality belt. **UPDATE: I called Amazon and they honored their 1yr warranty. Refund issued. ... show more

  • 6PK1300 does not fit Mazda 5 2.3L
Style: 6PK1300
6PK1300 does not Mazda 5 2.3L It does not fit any Madza 2.3 L. The correct size is the 1320 or 52" belt. Amazon part size check failed again. This is Amazon being too big to care about part fitment as Bando's own website calls for the 6PK1320. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS AND AMAZON HAS TAKEN NO ACTION TO MAKE IT RIGHT. ... show more

  • Don't get this if you have a MK4 TDI...
Style: Serpentine Belt
I used this to replace my OEM serpentine belt for my 2004 VW Jetta TDI (BEW) wagon. This product said it was compatible with my vehicle. This product worked at first but I noticed issues right away. 1. The belt looked different from my OEM one. I thought maybe it just needs to wear in the grooves. I proceeded to install it and drive it. 2. While test driving on the freeway I noticed the low battery indicator light would come on for a second then go away. This happened every once in a while for a few weeks. 3. A few months went by and worked fine but I noticed my power steering started to squeal. My power steering fluid level was low so I topped it off but it still continued to squeal. I kept driving it for a few more months until it got louder and I decided I would order a new power steering pump and flush my power steering fluid. Before I decided to spend hundreds of dollars for a power steering pump and power steering fluid I decided to order a Continental 6DPK 1195 belt to see if this belt lost tension or was the problem I installed the Continental 6DPK 1195 and to my surprise, it solved my power steering squeal issue. If you have a VW or TDI spend the extra money and just get the better belt. It will save you the hassle and money trying to chase after other problems like the power steering pump issue I had. ... show more

  • mmm new belt smell
Style: 6PK2225
i like bando belts, they last a long time. The original belt on my honda was a bando and lasted past 130,000 miles. this one fit a 2004 ram 1500 4.7L just like it it is supposed to and went on without a problem. the key to any belt replacement is to physically clean every pully very good inside every groove with a brush and degreaser then rinse with water then dry with compressed air to remove the rubber, oil, antifreeze etc that builds up then inspect every pulley for bad bearings and proper alignment plus proper tension after installation. chemical contamination kills belts from leaks, repairs and the environment. ... show more
